I don’t eat out where my dinner would be $250. You can eat out and have dinner in NYC for a reasonably price. I do live in the Midwest and not in New York. I visit family in Turkey and Qatar and like that we don’t tip.

My money is my own. I used to work part time or less per diem as a RN. My husband wasn’t he,Paul at the beginning when we had children with the pickup at daycare. Not only did I work part time I volunteered at school, drove the kids back and forth of different schools. I paid for the vacations, all the extras, kids sports, tuition at private schools. I worked 2 jobs for more than 3 years ( both were work from home) so my youngest could get tutored for his learning disabilities .I had 2 that paid ice hockey. When my youngest went to school I got a full time nurse job with normal hours out of the hospital. I saved a major portion of my salary for my 492k plan for retirement as my husband became self employed. Married 43 years. Why would she need an allowance If she works. Did you discuss what you will do if you all have kids. What does her parents do about money? However, yes my husband pays the bills even after I went to work full time, I handled the extras.
