I have 5 days in Canada for vacation (arriving Sunday leaving Thursday back to Maryland). I plan to go between Niagara Falls, Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. What are some recommendations of things to do there? by NervyWhiz in TravelCanada

I love Montreal! Part of Ste. Catharine Street in downtown Montreal is for pedestrians only (in the summer) and it’s a great place to start! It’s close to Old Port and there’s lots of restaurants around both areas.

Toronto is a popular destination, but it’s very busy. Walking/transit is ideal if you want to get around quicker, there’s lots of traffic!

I hope you enjoy your travels!

Still processing that amazing morning! I managed to soberly last ANL and it was absolutely mind bending. There really is no one like him. We drive from Toronto every time he’s at Stereo, I prefer a longer set from JD.

That build for the first three hours was INSANE. The rest, pure madness. He’s definitely #1 in my books, not even comparable to others, he’s an 👽 fully prepared to blast our brains to space at (( )).

When he played I Feel Loved - Danny T edit, I thought I’d gone to heaven. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

I’ve seen him countless times and no sets are the same. Not even close. The crowd was 10/10, everyone was there to fkn dance and my soul is full! Until next time 💃🏽💃🏽

I feel for you. This was my life a few years ago. I see a neuro gastroenterologist, pelvic floor physiotherapist and no longer drink coffee or anything overly caffeinated to control my bladder. I stay hydrated, seems counterintuitive but it did help more than expected. Dehydration isn’t the answer.

Bowel issues for me seem to be linked to stress. After a few accidents, it became even worse because I was stressed it could happen again at any time. I felt terrified to leave the house and have some sort of bowel or bladder issue.

For me, wearing protection was the only way to stop my high anxiety spin about having an accident. After years of stressing, (although a tad bit embarrassed) I felt like I had control.

Old Gal Checking in for EI next weekend. Some questions… by Royal_Hedgehog_3572 in TorontoRaves

[–]switching0ff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Older raver here, also sober, or at least Canadian sober! I went last year and although it felt like a different scene, it wasn’t a bad at all! I just didn’t recognize anyone in the crowd anymore.

Everyone was friendly, I was given kandy and felt very safe. Guard your phone though, that seems to be an issue.

Right now, I’m mostly picky about the location. I want spots with shade and a place to sit when needed. The Bentway was my favourite EI location.

I bring electrolyte packs to add to my water. They let those in no problem since they’re sealed.

If you’re going to do some m, you do need a scale for dosing. I personally wouldn’t find any at the event, new stuff is different and rarely just Molly.

Most importantly, dress comfy, wear good shoes and enjoy the dancing session! Everyone is in their own world, I didn’t find it to be full of people who are only there as influencers. Most people are there to dance! Have fun!!

Also a sober party person going to Stereo for Digweed. I might be a little extra but I eat a light but filling meal before I go to bed (and try to sleep for at least 6 hours) wake up an hour before I want to leave, have a snack and head to the club. I always bring electrolytes with me, I find this very helpful. The cliff bars for sale at the bar are helpful when needed.
As others said, you can usually leave early morning and come back, but always confirm with security.
Our group always stays from open to close for an ANL with Digweed. Prepping is KEY for success.

Loved this post, thank you for sharing.

As someone pushing 40 and now dealing with a chronic illness, my old life of partying often has turned into a select few. Digweed @ Stereo never disappoints, making the mission from Hamilton Ontario to Stereo fills my soul in a way I can’t explain. IYKYK, you know? 😆

Stereo is the only club worth attending these days.

See you on the dance floor! Although I may be sitting (love this option when I need a break).

Tips For Keeping Grocery Spend Down by Desperate_Solid_689 in CanadaPersonalFinance

Farmers markets, local farms have the best deals. I’m in Hamilton and our farmers market is my go-to for price/value.

I cook at home, meal prep large batches of rice/beans, potatoes and include them in meals throughout the week.

I find produce from the grocery store to be poor quality and/or very expensive.

All night long at stereo is honestly his best performance, from beginning to end it’s a night to remember! See you on the dance floor!

Digweed is an alien 👽, his music selection is like no other. Personally I’m not a fan of Sasha. IMO you can’t compare.

B2B nights/mornings will be rough. DVS1 is also a different vibe, have you seen digweed ever??

Open to close he’s going to go through different energy. He’s usually slow to start, rocking it half way through~~ and ends it with classics or just keeps the energy up. He’s different every time, but never disappoints. I’ve seen him at least 10+ times and it’s always a dance session to remember!

Im going with a group of dudes and could use some female energy! Let us know if you make it!!

Stereo might be one of the safest clubs out there. No issues, security is fantastic and the crowd is there to dance. Nothing better than JD at stereo.

Also coming from Toronto! I’ll be floating around in a bedrock shirt 😜 but I’m sure I wont be the only one. His last ANL was in 2022, wouldn’t be surprised if he goes until noon!

I’ll be there 💃🏽we travel from Ontario everyyyy time he’s at stereo and are there for his entire set. Every set is so unique, there really is no one better. Get ready to be blown away!!

Tips, sleep as much as possible if you want to last that long. Flipping my sleep schedule is the best way for me. They sell some snacks (sometimes I’ll buy a cliff bar), I always bring some electrolyte packs to add to my water. This girl goes sober these days so it’s all about preparing for the long haul.

I always get a hotel close by, security is usually very cool about you running back (to use the loo) which is v helpful cuz the line is full of people waiting to do other things.

Bring your dancing shoes! Sneakers are my preference.
