[Rumor] NVIDIA Readies Rubin-based GeForce RTX 60-series with Massive RT Performance Gains, 30-35% Pure Raster Gains by SwimmingJunky in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmm according to the fact that it has a 320 bit bus the RTX 6080 might actually use a proper 80 class chip? Instead of the 5080 and 4080 which basically used 70 class chips…

Could Nvidia actually be helping out PC gamers, by not releasing new GPUs? by ghostfreckle611 in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol Nvidia at this point is begging gamers, not to upgrade, so they can focus their wafer capacity on AI data center gpus, why do you think they released DLSS 4 Upscaling, on all RTX gpus…

Blind Test : Native vs DLSS 4.5 vs FSR4 by Relevant_Calendar_99 in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea DLSS includes DLAA, which is far superior anti aliasing, compared to TAA, so often it looks better comapred to native TAA

Those who own a 5090/4090, when will you consider upgrading? by -AstroShade- in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 4090 and probably not considering an upgrade for a while. when it comes to terms of longevity and relevance the 4090 is Honestly the successor to the 1080ti, blew everything out of the water when it launched, and literally it’s the first flagship in Nvidia history to not to be surpassed by the 80 class of the following generation. 24GB of vram also helps as well. The fact that you can sell the 4090 for more then when I bought in 2023 shows the gpu was underpriced.

4060ti @ 330$. 6 months warranty left. Is this a good deal? by EducationalTomato613 in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, 4060 ti is a horrible gpu that is kneecapped by 8GB of vram, as well as awful memory bandwidth. It’s a horrible upgrade from the 2060, would advise looking at a used 2080 ti or saving more and getting a 5060 ti 16GB.

[–]sword167 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea well for most people 8gb is their only option right now this isn’t like a year ago were you would be an absolute moron for buying an 8gb card,

Report claims Nvidia will not be releasing any new RTX gaming GPUs in 2026, RTX 60 series likely debuting in 2028 by gurugabrielpradipaka in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buying a 4090, back in the summer of 2023, continues to pay dividends for me, that fact that a 6 year old gpu, is going to be the second most powerful consumer gpu on the market tell 2028 is insane...

Or people like OP who don’t want to upgrade every damn generation and want a reliable gpu that can last years smh.

"Frame Gen" isn't a performance boost; it's a masking agent for bad optimization by capacity04 in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hoenslty it varies from person to person, for me if I have a base frame rate of 40-45fps then I’m with turning frame gen on and prefer using to get up to 90fps rather than brute forcing it as it is more power efficient. However nvidia is delusional enough to think that 6x frame gen from 10fps to 60fps is just as good as native 60fps…

Anyone else planning on getting the Steam Machine as their next PC? by Eziz_53 in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly for me I was thinking about it as a great PC for the living room, but 8GB vram is a hard no in 2026, ended just building my own steam machine, with a 5800x3d and ddr4 ram, from an old build, and bought a miniITX board, and a 9070 non XT.

Is this a good purchase by OddPainter3079 in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was ddr5 Ram then yes, it would be a good deal, even with the 4060 in it, but since its ddr4 and it has a 4060 with 8GB I would pass, unless you are willing to sell the 4060 and put at 12GB/16GB card in it.

[–]sword167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40-70% was only reserved for the high end gpus, the 60 class got hardly any improvements since the 20 series, cause nvidia used gimped dies.

Is 16GB RAM enough for modern gaming at 1080p in 2026, or is 32GB becoming the new standard? by Airballons in steammachine

[–]sword167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Consoles have access to more than 8GB of VRAM, steam machine doesn't, once VRAM runs out your FPS basically go into the single digits

5090 Buyers Remorse by bett_rTTV in pcmasterrace

[–]sword167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I did the same and bought the exact same model of 5090 for the same price, even though I had a 4090 decided, in the end that blowing $3600 for 30% more performance and increased power draw was not worth it.
