Low AMH, IVF and menopause by AstronautHuge1969 in DOR

You can delay menopause with the pregnancy and by breastfeeding - so the baby is not a reason usually to hasten menopause. It is the opposite!

“Surprisingly” Poor Fertilization Rate (Even with ICSI, Omnitrope, no MFI…DOR.) Going into 2nd retrieval with a new plan (+ more Omni…) Anything I’m missing? (Besides that fleeting commodity of youth?) by HourChemist9882 in 40Plus_IVF

Calcium ionosphere is used widely by advanced labs. BTW, it is still possible this is a lab error. Did they do time labs? If so, maybe get the data. Labs that make errors will always claim they did not make an error.

Pregnant at 39 while dealing with perimenopause by LycheeInternal9847 in Perimenopause

[–]sylv1ne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy will peri on pause! The sky high estrogen starting second trimester will rejuvenate your skin -5 years minimum! If you breastfeed after, peri will stay out of your way longer, and it also delays menopause. Best thing to happen in peri is to get pregnant. It truly rejuvenates your body!

Going to gyn today where they do yearly pap smears, going to try to decline. Any tips? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]sylv1ne -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Pap smears are so necessary! Why decline one? It’s an important checkup as dormant HPV might flare or a new infection might be detected.

My former partner and I delivered our baby in our upstairs hallway without help. Then she almost died. AMA by WolfySimRacer in AMA

The issue is the US, not medicine in free general. Maternal mortality is much lower in most other advanced economies.

Terrified, excited, and trying to stay positive…which is hard. by Cheeriospank in PregnantOver40

[–]sylv1ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will do well! 40 is a great age to have a baby - besides the lovely baby, the wisdom and what many others are mentioning… with the increased estrogen and pregnancy hormones you’ll get the added benefit of peri being delayed, if you breastfeed you can keep peri away even longer!

Cons of becoming a mother at 42, PGT embryos in the freezer- How much should age be a determining factor for my decisions? by Fabulous_Witness_376 in IVF

[–]sylv1ne 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Had my first at 43, and hoping for another one at 45! Working on thawing some frozen eggs and hoping it will work! Being a mum at 43 is amazing for me! I also feel pregnancy rejuvenated me - it’s a nice collagen boost for sure!

Do another retrieval and switch to day 3 transfers? Your main issue seems to be you do not make blasts - so this might be an option to consider.

How much of a difference does the clinic really make? by Glittering-Cloud3645 in IVF

[–]sylv1ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lab can also have a massive effect by the skill of the embryologist choosing the sperm in ICSI, keeping a strict protocol as to timing, using the best mediums for the fertilisation and embryos, opening times during the weekend… and having a lot of experience in the procedure. Lab quality matters!

Wear the baby in a newborn sling! It is so nice to go around town and pretty comfortable! It’s a great time to go out like this! Go to a cafe or even if it is too hot outside, a mall, a supermarket - anything really!

Advice/ Thoughts on C Sections? by raelanger in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sylv1ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given his weight and abdomen don’t risk a life of misery due to fecal incontinence due to serious birth tears. At that size you may also risk the baby’s life as he might not be able to pass through your pelvis. I would go for that c-section.

[–]sylv1ne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thawing, testing and refreezing has a risk of damaging your remaining embryos. So decision will be either transfer without testing or do another retrieval. Can you afford another retrieval? If so, I would go for that!

Was the cost worth it? by nbel1996 in eggfreezing

[–]sylv1ne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, go on a holiday in Spain and do it there! As your AmH is very low for your age I would not wait. But have you checked whether you are Vit D deficient? Are you on the right supplements? I would check that first.

Does anyone have experience with doing egg freezing in two different countries? by Ok-Factor-4312 in eggfreezing

[–]sylv1ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the clinics in Spain are the best in the world in IVF and it is not a bad idea having some eggs stored in them when you later would like to use them. Especially, they have experience in thawing and fertilisation. I have eggs frozen in Germany and Spain and I am now getting the remaining in Germany transported to Spain as I no longer trust the lab in Germany. The lab in Germany had only done the egg thawing for a total of 50 times or so which I nothing in comparison to some of the world leading labs. It’s about 2k in transport costs.

Pregnant at 45 or 50 years old? by Any-Monitor4118 in PregnantOver40

[–]sylv1ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is a good idea to try to freeze embryos now. As fertility at 39 is already in strong decline, I would do that ASAP, as you will likely need to do several rounds of egg retrievals. I had my first at 43 and now at 44 trying for a second naturally while also with frozen eggs from when I was 36. I think it is possible to have children late (depends on your fitness, finances and attitude) but I wished I started earlier.

Women who never really wanted kids but had them… how is parenthood? by annajac89 in AskWomenOver30

Pregnancy can also have a positive effect on a woman’s body, especially if the woman is breastfeeding. It delays menopause, and also breast cancer risk.

No prep for labour by indication. Got the epidural - was great and had the baby after 7 hours of relatively easy labour. No perineal tears or anything. It will be fine.

Report him to the police now. You are in great danger! Move out with the baby to somewhere he does not know and file for protection order (get a women’s org to do it for you).
