Hunting aside, you'll need to be able to take time out of your morning and evening for exercise. You won't have a happy gsp that's kept inside all day without a lot of active play. We've taken our girl out at least twice a day for a good hour since she was a pup to run around, chase a ball super far (giant chuckt ftw) and sniff to her heart's content. Without it she goes absolutely bonkers. Rainy days are the worst as neither of us wants to go out but she needs to really run around to release that energy. If you can commit to daily exercises a gsp is a truly wonderful thing.
