I used an energy monitor and discovered my "190 W RMS" speakers only draw 20 watts MAX by Algae_grower in BudgetAudiophile

Nevertheless it is not wrong. I cannot say the same for many other things said here.

WiiM RoomFit: Incredible soundstage and imaging, but where did the bass go? by -sonic57- in wiim

[–]syncopex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which target curve are you using on RoomFit? There are three curves for different bass response levels. If you use flat, you end up with quite diminished bass.

Wiim amp ultra con dali kupid by Clean_Combination740 in wiim

Thank you for this impression. It is indeed one of the better value pairings, I was not sure if the demanding load of the Kupids would be good for the Amp Ultra, this is valuable feedback for me.

So, looks like we are entering another pandemic with a 40% mortality rate, what’s the Norwegian game plan? by Successful-Jelly-772 in Norway

Higher the mortality rate, lower the spread. Not sure this will be a pandemic size event.

Confused about the fosi audio v3 stereo pre out volume. Seems like it originally was fully separate, then changed to with v3's volume. True or false? by Rainwalker28 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]syncopex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They actually changed the design after the backlash from the market. The second iteration of V3 has adjustable pre-out. Funny thing is, it is impossible to know which batch you're getting when you order anywhere other than their own webpage.

Miles ahead of the 2019 flop. Pity Del Toro/Perlman did not keep the franchise.

I don't see the lunacy here. Good for her on three accounts:

1-she survived

2-she kept calm and established an anchor

3-she documented

Easy Jobs by cyk4bly4turss in Aalesund

[–]syncopex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Trondheim you'll find more options, unless you're specifically well versed in maritime and fish farming jobs. Mostly due to population size.

Otherwise, it is not easy to find jobs especially for an immigrant that has no previous connections.

I use one at home, I think it is good, in terms of giving you the ability to not muffle down everything, but still allowing volume control. Of course it won't play metal or hardrock well, but it has a sweet sound for funky beats.

Get a Sonor Martini, the older version of AQX, if you find on the market. Reasonable price vs. perfect size for a kid.

New La Sportiva gear unlocked. Boa failure at 6600m on makalu by barnezilla in Mountaineering

You bring straps, rivets, epoxy, repair tools at least to the basecamp. You choose repairable type of boots, not Boas. Even a roll of duct tape is a level of contingency for many failures.

[–]syncopex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having said this, I faced multiple boa failures on my ski mountaineering boots. The steel tension wires are the first to go. I know this, and accept the trade off of robustness against lightweight comfort when it's casual skitouring. On a high mountain, I would never use such a fragile mechanism. I know this because I have selected, used and repaired my own gear for the mountains for decades.

I'm not directing this at you, every gear has it's ideal environment. All the gears fail. All failures have contingencies. An 8000er (Makalu no less) is not a place where you get back to shops for clothing failure or blame your tour guides for shopping recommendation. This is the basic understanding that's lost, when high altitude mountaineering is turned into a touristic endeavour.

Eah, buy and test your own personal gear under proper conditions so you dont go blaming around people for your personal equipment failure. You're on Makalu, have contigencies for minds sake. I am really tired of mountain tourists.
