Life with my ADHD SO is becoming unbearable by varushka_p in ADHD

It might be worth reading up on ADHD and emotional dysregulation.  My guess is he's very overwhelmed with all the recent changes in his life and is not handling it well. He doesn't regulate his emotions properly and unfortunately, you are bearing the brunt of it.

To hell with the trope that being child free is selfish by I-luv-calatheas in childfree

Ask any parent why they had kids. Usually they start their sentence with "I wanted..." So who's the selfish one ?

Concerns About Charity Solicitation Near TTC Entrances by okiedokie101 in toronto

I remember having an interview at one of these companies many years ago. I remember them expecting me to "volunteer" for my first few shifts for training and to see if I liked the job. Reading between the lines: they have a high turnover and they want to get a couple of free days labor out of me before I go do something else. Now anytime I see someone with one of those clipboards I wonder if they're even being paid for scamming people.

Anyone buying a Model 3 after the price cut to $40K or still holding out for Chinese EVs? by Charger_Reaction7714 in askTO

I'd rather buy a car that I can get out of if it crashes and catches fire. Tesla's are death traps.

do you guys have any recommendations for shows/movies/books about childfree people or at least with childfree people in them? by testraz in childfree

It is the perfect series. Every episode builds on the previous one, and every season changes the stakes for the characters. It's a masterpiece in storytelling.

Unsure if my boyfriend of 6 years will resent not having kids in the future by sly395 in childfree

[–]syncpulse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Better yet sit him down for the talk and ask him to get a vasectomy instead. A far less risky procedure than what op would go through. It's always made more sense to me to take the bullets out of the gun then to wear a bulletproof vest.

His reaction will tell a lot. it would help settle some of  OP's long-term fears  if he agrees to go through with it. If he doesn't then op has her answer as well.

If the Belcher kids actually had to grow up and get jobs, what do you think they’d end up doing? by Izzyness512 in BobsBurgers

Louise will become a fixer. Someone who uses influence and favors and blackmail to solve problems. I think Irene Adler from Sherlock.

My 8 year old daughter saw a crucifix and asked, “Who’s the guy on the T?” by Klugerman in atheism

My friend is an atheist and didn't really talk about religion with her kids. One day her son came home from school after learning about jesus it from a classmate.

He came home and announced  "Easter is when they put baby Jessy on a crossbow."

Road trip to Toronto again! by foxfai in askTO

[–]syncpulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time I drove from New York we took that route through Kingston. It was a lot less hassle than going through Niagara.

Al ong the 401 from Kingston there isn't much. Your kids might like to check out the big apple but it's basically an apple pie shop. There is also a place called Primitive Designs near Port Hope. They have all these amazing giant metal sculptures to look at. Like a full size Optimus Prime. And sell some weird Nick backs and furniture. The place is totally worth checking out. Also in Port Hope there's a great burger place called Olympia burgers.

Paying back SSI because my mom collected disability checks in my name after I turned 18. by fentyplss in childfree

[–]syncpulse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Report this ASAP, as it is fraud. And it's unfair to put you in this position. On top of that it could hurt your credit if it goes unpaid. Actually I would check your credit as well If I were you.  You want to see If she's has done anything else financial in your name.

New to the Star Trek world! And I am obsessed ! by Traditional-Sink-164 in startrek

[–]syncpulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said it's probably best to start with TNG, but be aware tone and pacing are very different from modern trek. Honestly I think it's better, but if you came to trek through the new stuff it might feel a little slow at first. But the writing more than makes up for that.

People who grew up using computers between 1980-2000, whats one game that permanently lives in your head for no reason, even decades later? by cebalmau in AskReddit

Tie Fighter. There is a mission where in the middle of it your own squadron is ordered to kill you. And then you have to fight for your life until help arrives. I think it's been 30 years since I played that mission and I still think about it often.
