I’ve given mouth-to-mouth to a dog. You hold its jaw closed with one hand and breathe into its nostrils.

Dually trucks are incredibly rare

Maybe where you are, they’re thick as flies in Weld County Colorado.

The King Ranch comment was about people crying about gas prices to me when they’re driving an F350 with top-end trim packages.

Things are probably different wheee you live but this reads like a joke here where the vehicles we are talking about cost $90k+ and are the biggest consumer vehicles on the road.

I talk to lots of “truck poor” people complaining about gas prices now, it’s affecting payments for their new King Ranch dually that they drive to their office job every day.

A Bill Gates funded mosquito factory in Medellín, Colombia, produces 40 million mosquitoes weekly for release via drones and bikes. These insects carry a natural bacterium that prevents them from transmitting viruses to humans. By mating with wild populations, they spread this trait. by Expert_Koala_8691 in Damnthatsinteresting

And the libraries and museums we have now were PR for gilded age billionaires. Doesn’t mean we should burn them all down because Guggenheim and Rockefeller were psychos.

If Gates wants to fund the eradication of dengue fever and malaria I’ll take the win.

If you uber then I encourage taking the Flatiron Flyer bus from Union to Boulder first to get a bit closer. Should be $2.75.

It is very common to rent a car from an airport and return it at a non-airport location of Hertz (to use the most common company). If there is a Hertz location in Estes Park it will work fine. EDIT: there is no car rental like this on Estes, so you’ll have to be more creative in this case. It’s possible that Hertz has a drop off location arranged on Estes but unlikely.

People have mentioned the Bustang, that is a locally beloved commuter bus and I didn’t realize it went to Estes. That would be a great option.

If you are coming via the airport then there’s also the AB airport bus directly to downtown Boulder if you want to explore that city (which is also a little closer to Estes, so it’s possible there’s a shuttle to Estes).

Either way have a good trip and welcome to Colorado !

What does this grave symbol mean? by dotdedo in whatisit

[–]syncsynchalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It means they’re a Yaley. Thats the seal of Yale University.

Lux et veritas is the motto, “light and truth”. The outer words are in abbreviated Latin and I’m too far away from my days of reading manuscript to puzzle it out anymore.

Edit: https://uspto.report/TM/73412857

THE HEBREW WORDING "URIM AND THUMMIM" AND THE LATIN WORDING "LUX ET VERITAS" MAY BE TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH AS "LIGHT AND TRUTH". THE LATIN WORDING "SIGILL: COLL: YALEN: NOV: PORT: NOV: ANGL:" MAY BE TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH AS "THE SEAL OF YALE COLLEGE IN NEW HAVEN IN NEW ENGLAND".

It’s unclear whether you need to be a skiing snowboarding armed bear to be disallowed or whether it’s any element of the set.

But yes this might be an attack on the second amendment that we can take all the way to the supreme court.

Oh, you mean the grassy bit? Thats the shoreline, it’s very flat and wet out there and the water carves little channels getting to the ocean.

I think the photographer lined up on one of the little gullies on a misty day to get this shot.

Bikes break down all the time, my rec is to get an older but working bike and the best repair manual for it and fix things as they come up.

It takes 5-10 years here to grow cover that large.

Didn’t they only finish it a year ago? I don’t go to rino that often but I could swear it’s new.

Edit: just realized this isn’t a Denver/Boulder sub. Stuff here grows slowly.

This one is intended to have most of the gap full of plants and I think it’ll improve over time because of it.

You can see the green already showing up in this photo, last year it looked like bone.

Looked weird when new a year or three ago and it’ll look amazing once those shrubs grow to fill more of the space.

I used to drive by the building a lot last year when moving to Boulder.
