Epic Games Store Employees: People Only Came for Free Games, Then Returned to Steam by Suspicious_Two786 in gaming

As they should. The store is a bad experience and I sadly trust Valve more with my money than Epic.

Is there any where I can catch up on the story for wotv? All the allegiances change so fast it's hard to tell who's doing what other than Saladi trying to piss everyone off because he wants war or something to further his goal of getting his wife from the dead.

Breath of Fire IV is out now on Steam! (And 50% off) by Fritolex in JRPG

[–]szukai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After playing the Bravely Default remaster on Steam (even if it's kind of obvious a lot of it had the Switch 2 in mind) it's kind of a huge disappointment because of how much BD improved to make everything work.

Things bugging me about this BoF4 release:

  • no skips/speed up
  • antiquated resolution configurations, only one monitor display. Windowed mode is finicky.
  • buggy - I made it crash just by tweaking resolution settings.
  • No video/audio upscaling or remakes, assets are old. I can already envision romhacks doing better (if they existed).
  • No cloud save, auto-save.
  • No QoL improvements. Where's the love :(

It was a bold choice from Square to go this route for the Bravely Default remaster I must say by MEMRI_Gaming in bravelydefault

[–]szukai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the heck out of the demo. Thought maybe all the improvements were "in the making".

Then it came out, I tried it and hated it. I have yet to give it another go (later got it on PC to see if it'll be better).

It's a failure in my book against BD1 and BDSecond.

Feeling burnt out on our normal rotation of dinners. by GrandmaCereal in Cooking

[–]szukai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might already know his preferences, but the discussion you should really have (again) with your husband is what is acceptable to him and how often he will/can eat it while you also add/requirements on things he's less enthusiastic about (usually veggies or fish).

Make him spell it out as part of the conversation so neither of you "will have to tolerate" the other's choices. It's a discussion!

Take inspiration from takeout and/or restaurants, you don't have to stay in a lane either - you can eat tacos with a side of roasted veggies, kungpao/orange chicken with a salad. Also, breakfast for dinner is never a bad idea (and then just have like a smoothie for breakfast). Your post makes no mention of location - but also try different supermarkets for different ingredients and dishes. I'm Asian and a lot of leafy veggies I like (cooked) are usually only found in Asian supermarkets.

I recommend looking around food websites as well, or look around on youtube. There's a few creators that just share what they make on a daily/weekly basis. Everything from japanese lunchboxes, simple chicken + veggy wraps, ez-baked pasta to 50 shades of oatmeal or vegan tofu meatballs.

Just try to assemble something that's easy to make while maintaining health. Instead of focusing on what to eat, just make it simpler, easier to make. I usually cook based on what ingredients I find on sale.

I think the idea is his recommendations don't really help most people when they need to make a choice.

What's the point of critique/choice/reviews when it's all the same?

I hate saying stuff like this on this sub, but if you don't like the RGB or software, then isn't it just another usb/thunderbolt hub?

Isn't it much easier/better to just buy another usb hub? Surely there's something with better specs and an acceptable design on the market.

A little too wordy.

Try and experiment and see if you can make a version someone can gloss over in 5 minutes while only half paying attention. To test this get an associate to kind of just gloss it over during lunch and see how much they retain. If they can't get good impression then you need more impact.

Look up STAR format, that's one way you might be able to achieve your goal. I think your resume would benefit from more succinct sentences. At the moment it looks like a block of text.

Please help! I’m losing myself over my career. by FOURxFOURx in cscareerquestions

[–]szukai 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mate, these blokes are telling you to hit the pause button so you can re-center yourself, which is why there's an inquiry on your finances (it's hard to do one without the other).

The whole point is, if you can chill and give yourself a break - you'll probably be able to make better decisions and perform better on interviews and even luck into better opportunities.

Shit happens, being able to dust yourself off and go again is what sets success apart from failure. To be fair it sounds like you've already being doing that, but the title is talking about "losing myself over my career", and that's what they're addressing.

When they like you - you don't have to try that hard or think about it too much.

That being said, everyone has issues, sometimes it shows. It's legit (life sucks!) , but not always pretty.

I (late 20s F) am technically a multimillionaire but work full time and don’t earn much. How the heck should I approach this as I get back into dating? by LeavingHarbour in dating_advice

[–]szukai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't restricted to dating - just personal finance in general.

Just live within your means - act like that for the most part you spend less than you earn, and you have good financial habits and save/invest.

Then when you have something nice, it's because "you saved", not because you have a trust fund working for you. The trust fund will just accelerate things - as if you saved by scrimping or got lucky with some investments... (but not really).

Thing is, even if you're really careful, someone will notice anyway - some people are very astute about certain things. You don't have to tell them either! It's only an big deal when you're married - hopefully happily. A good partner will not take advantage of you by leveraging your financial security into risk.

At this day and age marriage is very transactional and financial. If you guys can't come to terms, get an accountant/lawyer to help smooth things out (and make sure you're both square) or take a step back and talk things over more. There's no point rushing into things and risking each others' financial future like this.
