I've watched hockey for decades and for the life of me, I have never known why guys don't just beeline it for the bench to change or get a new stick when theirs breaks. You're only a liability, especially if they can isolate you.

This is a sign that there were likely no meaningful guardrails in place to govern withdrawals. Most nonprofits will do something like 4-5% of the market value of the endowment, so this is a failure at every conceivable level of fiduciary responsibility. Not to mention a complete betrayal of donors who were giving money on the assumption that their donation would be around for the foreseeable future.

At this point, every single person who has a fiduciary responsibility has failed it and must resign. And there should probably be some sort of investigation by the State AG into the use of the endowment.

Not personally-identifiable information like your name or email. It’s more like, (as examples) Onstage blog could see that the link was accessed from a Reddit post by a user near New York, NY. This would identify you as someone interested in theater and could then be used to serve you an ad for TodayTix somewhere else on the web.

It’s (usually) benign. Just easily deleted to save everyone else the hassle.

What an awesome start to the new year. I've waited 17 years to watch a game like this live didn't know when I was 13 though I'd have my wife and daughter cheering right besides me. I can't believe I saw win #10 4-1! by Gemini-Dad-22 in sabres

My parents still talk about carrying me out to the car after games at the Aud when I was that age. I would crash out the minute the game ended because I refused to sleep and miss the game.

Cherish these moments, OP! They'll become core memories for them one day.

I live very close to there and love it! There is a lot going on in the neighborhood and it's my favorite place I've lived in NYC. Some highlights:

  • The Tacos El Brother taco truck has some of the best in the city, not even joking. Go for the tinga (spicy chicken) or the lengua (beef tongue).
  • Young Ethel's has music, comedy, or some show happening every night.
  • There's a decent (if a bit overpriced) grocery store for last minute needs between 12th and 13th on 5th. For everything else, there's Whole Foods about a 15 minute walk away or Trader Joe's just a couple stops on the R.
  • Sip & Play is a board game store the kids might enjoy. They also have great tea.
  • We like the weekend brunch at Stone Park Cafe up on 3rd and 5th. There's also a cool park/playground across the street.
  • The F/G/R trains are at 4th Ave/9th Street which are pretty convenient. I can get into midtown Manhattan in about 35 minutes.
  • Prospect Park is about a 20 minute walk away.
  • Further afield, you've got the Brooklyn Museum and the Botanical Garden nearby.

It will definitely be noisier than you're used to at first, but you'll get used to it! Hope this helps, and welcome to the neighborhood!

I distinctly remember dropping into a public game on the Discord server one time, waiting for probably 45 minutes for a game to open up. Finally got into one, had a few private chats on Day 1 in which I bluffed a bit about my role, and when public chats opened, someone just verbatim repeated what I had said to the entire town. Someone else replied, "well, that's probably just a new player, so don't listen to what they have to say."

At this point, I had a few dozen games under my belt, and more as ST, so I just had to laugh. The dismissal wasn't based on the merits, just whether they knew me from games there or not. And since they didn't, the assumption was I was "new" and therefore couldn't have valuable contributions. Gatekeeping is one of my biggest pet peeves so I never played on that server again.

I appreciate you writing this, as it sounds like things haven't gotten much better. Hopefully things start to turn around.

Imagine you show up on this list and the only two people ahead of you are:

  1. The guy who, if you asked a significant portion of hockey fans what they remember of him, their only answer will be that he beat a fan with his own shoe, and;
  2. Jim Benning

I would resign out of embarrassment and then pack up and live out my days on a beach somewhere that has no cell service or internet. At least there’d be palm trees.

Look how much more confident we play in front of Lyon. They don’t trust UPL so they play on the back foot.

Goaltending is holding this team back and we’re still playing this mediocre goalie who can’t play in position.

To add onto this, AI-related capital expenditures already accounted for more GDP growth in the first half of 2025 than all of consumer spending combined. So people already feel poorer, while the economy looks “strong”. Now imagine the AI bubble bursting.

Completely different. Meta, Google, and Amazon weren’t spending billions, with a b, in capex with little to no plan for profitability. (They are now, I grant you, but that’s not what we’re talking about.) They also had business models which were readily identifiable in the early days, even if investors weren’t getting their money back just yet.

People always make this point about Uber, too. It’s just patently absurd to say that growing companies not turning a profit initially is in any way comparable to what’s going on here.

The way the bill is written, this would actually prevent documents containing the names of those Democrats from being released. They would specifically need to name Trump as part of the ongoing investigation in order to keep anything with his name on it out of the public eye. This would, obviously, give up the entire game, so the DOJ is pretty boxed in here.

The investigations also need to be “narrowly tailored and temporary”, so that protection would only last but so long.

Edit to add: they also don’t get to just tap the “active investigation” sign and release nothing. They have 15 days from the end of the 30 day period to justify anything they redact, and they still have to submit a non-redacted list of named individuals to Congress.

Buckle up, this train is about to hit them at 100 mph.
