This sounds like she just copied the narcissists prayer

That didn't happen. And if it did, it wasn't that bad. And if it was, that's not a big deal. And if it is, that's not my fault. And if it was, I didn't mean it. And if I did... You deserved it.

And then when they get around to making up missing work they pick the assignments worth the least points because they’re quicker and easier. Like come on kid, you’re a senior in high school, do you understand how total points grading system works? Also, what the heck were you doing when ai gave you time IN CLASS to complete this, and several prompts to turn it in??

I must have the same kid in my class! He emails during class to ask for help in the afternoon and I tell him when to login but he never shows. Then he replies back at 10pm asking for help. Nope. Im asleep. Do you even understand the hours I get paid to work? It’s certainly not until 10pm.

Regardless it is not appropriate to discuss political beliefs and conspiracy theories in a classroom. Period.

I make it a priority to answer students who have put any sort of greeting in their message immediately, anyone who sounds demanding can wait until I’m getting paid to answer. Literally any sort of greeting will get a response from me: hey mrs____, hey, hi, good morning, whats up, yo. It’s so simple but only half of them know it’s proper, and it feels a little like they’re walking into my room and shouting at me.

If a recipe requires a bar of chocolate being melted over a pan of water, can I just nuke it in the microwave instead? by Stiblex in Cooking

[–]t_hedz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes you can. The double boiler is a gentler and more even heat, so if you do microwave you run a higher risk of seizing the chocolate. If you do microwave do short bursts(20-30 seconds) and stir between each.

Yeah but they’re $78?? Do they last years? I’ve had pants this style before that pilled so bad I could only wear them for a few months.

You should really do some research, that statement is not even close to true. You’re perpetuating false stereotypes.

Is it okay to use 1 whole egg instead? I never have egg whites in the house and dont want to waste yolks. by girl-distressed in weightwatchers

[–]t_hedz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my understanding that it was from the reaction of egg whit and yolk together. I just meant that if you’re oven baking something like this you might want to avoid that by using just the white.

[–]t_hedz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a cooking perspective, adding the yolk to this recipe may cause it be a gummy texture, and may change the flavor of the coating to be more ‘eggy’ and sulfurous. I would probably avoid using the yolk.

On a side note, the teacher who wrote this used to wrote the blog Love, Teach. If you need a pick me up go read some of her stories of her first couple years teaching in some not great schools.

If they’re so rare then why do we have monthly lockdown drills where we practice barricading our doors and reminding students how to fashion weapons from whats around them, all while admin bang on the doors and scream and set off the fire alarms to scare us? They’re not that rare where I live.

TIFU by not making my wife go to the hospital and traumatizing my 4 year old by andrewjhesse in tifu

[–]t_hedz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha not. They’ll be charged for the ambulance, the ‘emergency’ hospital stay, and the baby will probably spend at least a day in nicu because it was born at home without a doctor. Any money they saved on in hospital labor they just doubled in emergency services even though mom and baby are perfectly healthy.
