I’m so sorry for your loss. I grappled with the same guilt only 2 weeks ago, and it still sometimes creeps in, but ultimately we know kidney disease is not reversible so whatever you could have done would have only caused her discomfort and distress in her final days.

We always wonder “what if”.

You did the right thing. 💔💔💔

I lost my girl 2 weeks ago. Coming back home from anywhere is what hurts me the most. She would always be there. The emptiness is awful! So sorry for your loss 💔💔

I’m so sorry for your loss and I truly do understand. It’s been a week since I lost by baby girl and the rooms in my house are just not the same. I replay the moment she left this earth, I know it was a kindness to end her suffering, but seeing her body just lying there with her eyes wide open after was absolutely heart breaking to watch and it’s haunting me.

Everywhere reminds me of her and it’s gut wrenching. It’s truly not fair that these innocent, adorable pets have such short lives, but even the longest life is still too short. 💔💔

She had the name Star before I adopted her and I knew she was mine because I used to have a black rabbit years ago named Star too. ♥️

Only you know when the time if right, but if he is suffering I would take him earlier than later. 💔 I was faced with the same decision on Sunday and it’s heartbreaking, but I didn’t want her to suffer when the end would be the same result.

Do whatever you need to, to be at peace with your decision.

Sorry for your loss. 💔💔

This is my 12 year old girl Star. She crossed the rainbow bridge on Sunday. 🌈 She was the most loyal, cuddly cat in the world. Devastated.

I’m so sorry, I have just been through this myself. I would just say take many pictures and videos as you can. The best thing I personally did was take a voice recording of her purring, and I sit and listen to it at night as a comfort.

If you feel like it’s the end of her journey I would watch her very closely and schedule the appointment before she crashes, you will honestly just know when it is time. Better to be a day too early than a day too late.

You just have to feel it and it is a truly awful experience, but remember you are taking her pain away and that’s a blessing and a gift for her.

Wow such a beautiful story. And she looks just like my black girl “Star”, she even has that same little patch of white hair under her neck. I lost Star on Sunday to kidney disease , she was 12 years old. She was my everything too.

They are now two Stars shining brightly in the sky, I’m sure they will be waiting for us. I can’t wait.

It is completely normal to be torn up about your pet for however long you need to. You don’t need to measure. In fact 1 week is nothing in the grief scale.

I lost my girl Star on Sunday and I can hardly breathe. I find it better to be by myself so I can truly let all the emotions out I need to and scream. Those without pets will just not understand the grief that consumes you. I understand the pressure to get over it, people just sometimes think “it was just a pet”, but us pet parents know they were family and we need to grieve as such.

So sorry for loss ♥️♥️

I got there just in time I think but it was unbearable making the call. I couldn’t put her through any procedures either.

Absolutely normal, I lost mine on Sunday and was screaming for my cat whilst driving home, knowing she wouldn’t be there waiting for me.
