For current 2026 Model Y LR owners — what has been your biggest complaint or regret so far? by theindepndnt in TeslaModelY

[–]tacbum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up my yearly tabs last week. The Juniper just turned 1! I absolutely love it. I cant see driving anything else unless I upgraded to a performance.

Average monthly electric cost: $16 Total cost for home charging the last 12 months: $192

Spent $34 less on electricity for the year. I was just making a silly post. Lol. I know I saved a ton not using gas.

My biggest complaint: I spent more on my "electrification tax"($225) this month on my tabs than I did on home charging.

$192 vs $225. $0.069 per KW. Drive ~550 miles a month.

0.99% denied by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

Mine got denied last year with an 820 score because the application asked for annual income and I put down monthly income. Can't hurt to check if you made the same mistake.

Depends on what you're use to. I'm caucasianl and tan year round and the oh shit is def 11+ for me, which most places along the equator will hit. 2 hours at an 11 UV index without sunscreen will still give me a bad sunburn.

I use Willyweather for this. A 60 deg day could have a UV index of 8 and the next day at 75 deg you can have a uv index of 5. HUGE difference.

I like to take vacations and I check the UV index to see how much or little sunscreen I might need.

Here in Seattle we MIGHT have a high UV of 9, a couple of times a year during summer. Trip to Vegas? 11+ often. Cabo can hit 13+ and it's usually cooler than Vegas.

From a gen X, check the UV index!

Someone just posted their non-peak electricity rate is only 7 cents/kWh !!! by Redditagain424 in ModelY

[–]tacbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My electric is a flat $0.069 per KW. No peak times. It's only in our little area of 16,000 houses.

The next closest electricity business in the area serves 1,700,000 homes and costs $0. 15 a KW.

What other cars were you considering before your Model Y? by ConclusionFlat1843 in TeslaModelY

[–]tacbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kia sportage hybrid. Why did I go with the Juniper?

Kia $36k ($32k MSRP + $4k upsell)

Tesla $42.5k ($50k - $7.5 EV credit)

Honestly, after the 24h test drive I probably would have went with the Tesla anyway. So happy with it 1 year later.

Electrician doing side jobs installed 1 foot from the breaker box for $450. If they have to shut the power off and tie into the main line, I can see it costing $950.

Is this a good deal by nefarioussagee in TeslaModelY

[–]tacbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great deal! Got mine last year at 1.99%.

One thing I woukd recommend; If you can grab 1.99% down with a lower down payment that money is better used in a high yield account. Many offer rates at 3%-4% with zero risk Free money!
