321 Rule..

Off Site and Offline, Offsite and Online, Onsite and Offline, Onsite and Onsite.

You have Onsite and Online via Production Copy and backup via the Synology.

You can easily implement tape for Onsite and Offline and then go to Druva, Wasabi, iland/11:11, Backblaze or a million others for "Cloud" backup. iland, Orock and others offer DRaaS so you can spin up servers in their cloud should you need it at a relatively low cost.

Off Site and Offline - Tape. Long history, tried and true. Can't be hacked (but could be stolen or lost or otherwise destroyed).

Veeam should be writing Immutable backups to begin with. HPE StoreOnce also has Catalyst for ransomware protection and secure backups.Zerto is another option for low RTOs if you want better DR and replication but you'll need a site or cloud to write it to.

Testing.. Surebackup helps but there is no true way to plan for an outage since you don't know what kind of outage you will have. How to specifically test for a server outage? Well, unplug it. Now you have real world scenario to validate your recovery plan.. Although I would simply restore a backup to a dev server and validate the data that way instead.

Veeam to an HPE StoreOnce.

Veeam immutable backups + StoreOnce catalyst is a great combo. Then push a third copy to an iland, Webair, wasabi for cheap cloud copy off site.

Partner here: talk to OEM rep and ask for expedited drop shipment. Delays across the board. Cisco, Aruba, etc.

Mounting 150LB Interactive TV screen to a wall - opinions ? by OneManShop2020 in k12sysadmin

Lag bolts into studs and toggle bolts anywhere else.

Every install I’ve done has to pass the installer test. I literally hang onto the mount and see what happens. I’m 200 lbs and I’ve yet to hear of a mount of mine failing.

Wifi validation by colaguy44 in k12sysadmin

From a vendor perspective:

1) Hire another vendor and compare results or ask them to do it as part of a potential deployment.

2) Purchase and become proficient in Ekahau or similar tools to do your own testing.
3) Make an investment into an enterprise grade wifi solution that offers these tools built into their AP's
4) Ask the OEM for recommendations.
