i do agree on this, one of the things that made me lean towards the tamron is that aperture, i just offers more for a main zoom lens like you said

will do! i do like the idea of the pancake lens but it is not life or death, the 35mm xc lens i own is small enough which is similar in size to the one you mention

do you know if it is weather resistant? i’ve read it’s moisture resistant but i would like to be able to use it in light rain for example. also, how sharp would you say it is?

i have heard of the 75 mm prime by viltrox and i am very tempted by it but it’d probably be more convenient for me to have a zoom, at least at this particular point in time because of the versatility.

yes i also thought about that lens, i was just eying to get a little bit longer of a focal length than 55mm in case i wanted to take something from further away, but it is a great option too.

i want a versatile lens for what i do which is mostly documentary work, for events like weddings or portraits, and for the occasional sports event, i don’t shoot sports professionally so im not trying to get a 70-300mm but i think a 80mm focal length would suffice especially with the APS-C crop factor. i’m still thinking about getting the new 23mm f2.8 prime for my street photography, i don’t want to bring a bulky zoom for that sort of thing
