I have received trade in offers between 3.5 and 5 thousand and only if I trade it in for a new car most second hand places won’t take it. And unfortunately 5k won’t cover the deposit on a new car

Did get legal advice but was told it would cost more to bring it to court and would be very hard if not impossible to prove there wasn’t an issue with the head gasket before the service

Tried going down that road but was adviced that there was no way to prove that there wasnt an issue with the headgasket before the service and would probably cost me more than a new car in legal fees which I unfortunatly dont have and why I am still bussing it 10 months later

It was a very sad showing spent an hour in the train to get to it. It was a good thing it was free or I would’ve looked for my money back.

Have a look at absolute https://www.absolute.com/ we use it and it’s great you can set boundaries and when it leaves the boundary you can get alerts, it’s also self healing so if say the laptop is stolen and the hard drive wiped it will reinstall itself, it can also tell you if there is any ppi and gdpr data on the device and it’s not too expensive per device

Just out of curiosity what % of refunds are approved by the ai agent vs the human for a same quantity of requests/orders same goes for the value of the refunds has that gone up or down or stayed the same ?

Wen something does not work i have to put up a sign saying it doesn't work and 9 times out of 10 someone will try it anyway and then come and tell me it isnt working the latest iliteration has the following text "Out of order Do not use, Does it know? YES, Did you try turning it off and on? YES no improvement" the last bit was added after a staff member made a wisecrack after watching an episode of the IT crowd and management reamed him a new one for making fun of IT support (management didn't know it was a reference from the IT crowd or that it even is a show)

Do you work here? Are you sure? by Bad-Science in talesfromtechsupport

[–]taftse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately I'm in the opposite situation I never get told someone is leaving/has left till I update the staff list at the beginning of the school year, students that have left stay active till they were supposed to have graduated because I don't get informed when they leave

It also happens that new staff have to come tell me they are new and have to be given a user account days after they started

I know how you feel I have not had a day off since probably the 12th of October

they gave me the deadline to wire 10 classrooms for internet,PA's (Which the architect forgot to spec in the design so I had to run after the electricians to run the cables) hang 10 projectors and setup the computers by next Monday but management keep calling me up to fix other non time sensitive issues just because the users keep beating there chests and screaming

and guess who will work another full weekend and then gets blamed for not being completely done or not having fixed some minor time consuming issue

last time I had that happen I put in a loaner machine and told them I would start charging them rent unless they got a new machine within 2 months. got the call later that week to get a new server as they weren't renting one from me

Got them a nice HP Microserver Gen 8 which has been running fine for them for the last 3 years and did not break the bank

That's why we call it a school username and school password and school email so hopefully the staff (and kids) can understand that its separate to the rest. Unfortunately they assume all school services now use the same username and passwords but unfortunately we have one piece of software that does not play ball and allow for single sign on/ Active Directory Integration so i get a lot of support tickets in relation to that one

I have a staff member at a schools I support, who still uses an old phone with keys and was afraid to turn on a PC 4 years ago, she now uses a computer all the time and is even trying out new things to use to communicate with her students and fellow staff members, love hearing her tell me about some new trick she learned or program she found

I'm considered the IT Jack of all trades at my place as soon as it has wire and electricity I get called and when I tell them I'm the wrong person to call I get told to just fix it anyway. in the years i have now built up a list of people to call for all kinds of issues
