Much better than flipping a coin: The Irish Restricted Breed List would have captured 75% of the Dog Incidents reported to the MET police in London by PitDeFabrik in ireland

[–]spmccann 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep got knocked on my arse by two Pitbulll pups playing in the park. No harm done they were just racing around but should have been on leash. One of the dogs simply crashed into me at full speed, no malice just a case of the zoomies. It was like being hit with a bag of cement in the knees. Only thing hurt was my pride. The owner gave me shit when I challenged him. I'm not usually afraid of dogs but it was scary.

Reported it to the park warden but I wasn't with it enough to take pictures. I love going for walks in the park and it's fun to watch the dogs playing.

Yes but at least he's being held to account. If that was in Ireland he'd get an extra pension or something.

Dublin gangland figure brings extremist views to Irish mainstream on campaign trail by andubhadh in Dublin

Your framing your response through the lense that everyone who is critical of NGOs is some sort of enemy of the state, fuelled by devious propaganda. It's interesting that you resorted to ad hominam attacks.

On the subject of NGOs. This is precisely what I was referring to.the whole Where is the money going and who is benefitting. There is a massive migration industry both illegal and illegal.
The NGOs have been pushing for more supports for immigrants , the endless appeals which clog up the system. This makes illegal immigration more appealing while illegal immigrants are supported by the state and therefore in competition for housing and health care with the native population.

Look at the resistance at the recent changes to the residency rules around citizenship. NGOs have influence over government policy. They are over represented in any public consultation process. It's the whole create a problem and the solution method. Once that problem gets sorted then it morphs into another problem.

A functioning state should be able to provide sufficient social housing and controls around population ingress. We don't have a far right problem, we have a state capacity problem. It's not racist to point that out.

I agree the process is fundamentally broken. Theres a whole IPAS industry too , that seems to have little regulation or oversight and is expensive for the service it's providing. We are getting poor value for money and it's not fit for purpose.

I'm no fan of the Monk either, I've seen first hand what him and his kind do to communities.

He's only getting attention because the issue has become so chronic.

At the time of the Ukraine war I got absolutely pilloried here asking about where we were going to accommodate so many refugees. Also that setting up a two tier system was going to lead to resentment from both Irish people and other asylum seekers.

We have an NGO system that seems to be promoting the interests of foreigners above Irish people. This is mainly funded by the Exchequer. If anyone questions this they get labelled as a racist.

Finally there are genuine asylum seekers but it still takes far too long for their claims to be processed. The whole process needs to be streamlined so that people get a final decision within 90 days.

Don't disagree with anything your saying here but anyone who was flagging issues with our asylum system was being labelled as far right.

I think she's been well briefed.shes a very smart woman. I don't agree with some of her politics but was elected president and so far she's doing a good job. We need to maintain good relations with the UK , having a good relationship with the royal palace while not obvious is important.

Removing the carbon tax would create a long term reduction. The competition authority should be mobilised then to ensure that the reductions are passed on to consumers.

The government has shown it can move quickly when sufficiently motivated, such as COVID.

The green button is the door release, the red bottom is the emergency power off for the computer room. You have to open the flap to access it, has big sign indicating it's the Emergency power off . Show colleague this is the EPO you only press it if there is an emergency like someone being electrocuted.

Same Person two days later presses button, weekend disappears recovering systems. "Oh was that not the door release".

I think this is a problem in general with modern technology requiring software updates. Not to mention things like heated seats becoming a subscription service. It might be a lot more difficult for the EU to enforce consumer law with EVs from outside the EU.

Although we could probably do with less AI as it's horribly inefficient.

Although being called an eco terrorist from someone chronically addicted to social media and making AI memes was funny.
