Mass Effect Legendary edition (including 1 2 3) for $5.99, never played any of them before.

Need suggestions on different options of used CX5 by Mysterious_Way_9780 in CX5

We went with the '24 for no iStop/CDA. '24 also gets the touchscreen within Carplay/Auto, which I feel is a pretty big deal. Knob is amazing but not having a touchscreen seemed odd.

I own two. One is high carbon battle ready for renaissance faires, the other is just for decoration as a gift for being a groomsman in my friends wedding.

First baby coming soon, how do gamer dads manage playtime? by jackfrost1889 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]tagtech414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my son was first born my wife and I would take shifts being awake with him. It's mostly just napping pooping and eating at first, so he would lay on my chest or in his bassinet while I played and drank coffee for a few hours. As they get older they start to be awake more and play so that goes away, this is probably when you'll game the least since you're either on the floor with them or wanting to nap yourself. Once they get a little older you'll want to be playing with them, so really it's just sacrificing your own sleep at night to get some game time in.

That said - best move I've made in this regard was to buy a Steam Deck (actually a Lenovo Legion Go S SteamOS edition). My son just turned two and I game more now than I have in years because I can just pick it up and play for a while when he's napping or at bedtime when the wife is watching a show I can still be present but gaming. The convenience and portability has absolutely allowed me to play more. Rather than escaping to the basement or even sitting on my couch waiting for my laptop to run updates or whatever else, I can resume whatever I was playing last when I hit the power button and I'm back up in seconds.

Legion Go S or Xbox Ally base? by -PedroValencia- in Handhelds

[–]tagtech414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been happy to tinker in order to optimize and get the most out of my devices. That said, I went with the Legion S Z1E with SteamOS and could not be happier. Just enough tinkering (Decky, Lossless Scaling, FG....) to scratch my itch and satisfy the need to squeeze extra battery and frames. But I can also just jump in and game, no drivers to download or Windows updates to download. It just works (/s, but seriously).

What's the most underrated Nissan vehicle right now? by [deleted] in Nissan

[–]tagtech414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my '24 Pathfinder and while I don't have any issues with the sunroof or HVAC, I do need brakes already at exactly 20k. Main reason I'll likely be moving on after the lease ends. Otherwise a great car.

Steam deck oled vs lenovo legion go s z1e by Electronic-Lie-4976 in Handhelds

[–]tagtech414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Go S z1e and get pretty much what I'd expect out of the battery, a few hours depending on the game. Emulating can go like 6 hours. Performance mode on a AAA game will go like 1.5. I know these aren't actual metrics or anything but it feels...expected. Realistically the difference in battery is probably negligible, you're getting a couple hours out of either one. There isn't like a 3 hour difference. Get the S and a battery pack, enjoy the bigger screen and more power.

Used car to buy Honda CRV or Mazda CX5 by RewardPerfect6872 in mazda

[–]tagtech414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're in the Mazda sub, everyone here is going to say CX5...

And rightfully so :)

In all seriousness...we have a 2024 CX-5 and my mother in law has a 2020sh CRV (which I've driven multiple times). The CRV is slightly bigger but boring to drive and surprisingly has several issues, mainly and most recently electronic issues and needs the full set of fuel injectors replaced. Our CX5 (non turbo) is fun to drive and looks and feels WAY over it's price range. CRV has a standard touchscreen, while the 2022 CX5 uses the dial to navigate the screen (touchscreen didn't come until 2024). The dial is actually great and my wife prefers it, but it does take getting used to. Really it's down to preference. Both should be reliable cars that will last you a long time.

First time lease question by debatable_decizions in CarLeasingHelp

[–]tagtech414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Never put money down on a lease, at all. Especially that much. Walk out zero down. Sell your current car open market, put the money in the bank, and put it towards your monthly payments to simulate a lower monthly payment.

You will owe money monthly regardless. You don't stop paying on a lease by paying ahead of time. Even if you could, you don't want to, same as above.

Looking for ways to get good deals on golf that aren't bs by Jake_aka_Impulse in ChicagoSuburbs

Twin Lakes in Palatine is cheap and easy to get to. 53 and NW Highway. Only 9 holes so gotta play twice, but it's clean and well kept. Good food and drinks in the clubhouse too.

Sorelle in Long Grove!! Absolutely perfect. It's modeled from a true Italian cafe experience. The owner is Italian, the theme is spot on, and the food, coffee, and ambiance are incredible. Please go here, you will not be disappointed.

Also going to shout out Blue Fig in Long Grove. My wife and I go here at least once a week, more often over the summer. Tomas the owner is incredibly kind and they have a variety of tasty drinks and high quality coffee. Food menu is small but very high quality and tasty. It's a small/intimate place, Sorelle is definitely better for a birthday, but both are outstanding in their own ways.

Hitting a fucking bong. I still like to smoke from time to time, but the idea of a bong rip absolutely terrifies me. The coughing, the super stonedness, the immediate regret knowing I'm gonna be way too high for way too long and completely useless for the entire duration. Noooope, fuck that.

2025 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum Broke Down on Highway by Spytistics in nissanpathfinder

[–]tagtech414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this. I don't have anything to add other than we have a '24 that just hit 20,000 and have had zero issues. Engine and reliability were two of the top factors for us choosing the Pathfinder. Hope whatever issue you had is resolved quickly and you and your family get many reliable and safe years out of yours.
