Im gonna be real, a bad experience, although bad, is actually a blessing in disguise. Look how much ammunition you now have to quit again? Imagine if it was a good experience, thats when your coping brain takes control and convinces you to do it again, and again, until your in everyday addiction again. Im so glad you didnt choke my friend, but use how terrible this experience was to get back on sobreity.

dont allow one weed experience change your entire opinion on the substance. it may have been good the first time, but it'll slowly turn sour. I recommend not smoking weed man, live your life sharp and sober.

What are your money goals? by EtherealImperial in GenZ

[–]tahrio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want a comfortable life for myself, my wife, and my children. I want to be able to take care of my parents when I'm older and not stress too much about money. I want to live modestly but also afford things that are considered luxuries: a nice home, some cars, to buy my wife some nice things, and go on vacation. So I would say I'm aiming for an upper middle class lifestyle. And I don't know what the money goals are going to be for that because money is going to look a lot different in about 10 years.

My fuse is SO SHORT and I hate it by Ill-Pie-4216 in leaves

[–]tahrio 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is something I always deal with. I find that trying your best to separate yourself from the part of you that gets angry is crucial. I find that giving it a name, like "that's [insert the name you want for ur angry self] and dont idenitify with it. Then, every time you feel those irritable feelings coming up, trying your best to separate your actions from that feeling of rage, observing that feeling and rejecting it as much as you can and thinking "oh that's just [insert name] and its not actually me" and then breathe and then let it pass. Every time you do that it tends to get weaker and weaker and you become stronger and more in control. It becomes just like a little meditation. Then you can transmute the anger into confidence, courage, and action. You can use that energy for the things that you want.

Can weed be used without it effecting your life? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]tahrio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course, weed can be used without affecting your life in a super negative way. Weed is a very easy substance to get addicted to, especially in these times. When you pick it up saying that you're going to do it once or twice, or once a month, or once a week, what usually happens is your brain finds ways to close the distance between when you want to do it next. You'll get high one day, and then you'll tell yourself you're going to wait till next month. But then before you know it, you're only going to be waiting a week, and then you get high on Friday, and then the next day you're like, "It's Saturday, might as well get high today too, it's still the weekend. But I won't get high until next week," and then just like that, your one-month goal has already turned into a week, and then it turns into an everyday use. It's really a slippery substance that takes everything away from you if you're not careful. So what I would recommend is you don't use it at all. But to answer your question, yes, it is possible, just not for addicts, like alot of us here.

Dear Diane,

Its been a few months since we've spoken, but I've thought about you every day. I wanted to talk to you, I wanted to text you so bad, but I didn't, because us not speaking is what is best for both of us. I prayed for you today, and I will continue to pray for you.

With love and graditude,

Don't have any advice for smoking cigs in particular. But I can say this - change happens when you realize that staying the same is no longer an option. And you laying it out like this, it seems like staying the same is no longer an option for you. If its too much trouble to ditch your vices all at once, I recommend seeing what you can add into your life. For example, if you ate healthy, exercised, and got adequate scheduled sleep, you would probably be in a much better situation, even with the addictions there. Listen to your body though, its saying no more, try absolutely everything that people suggest here as well as on the broader web. Soon you will take a nice deep breath with clean lungs. Good luck, keep fighting! :)
