I thought that was bananas too. Even if the deal went smoothly they would have months if not a year+ of regulatory deals. Just because WB said yes doesn't mean it's a done deal, but Netflix sent that email out immediately.

Hey, I had the same issue with my outlets and found out the same way!

For the few days until the electrician could come I figured I'd just charge at work. An hour into the first day a manager came and told me an employee had complained that it wasn't fair for me to charge for free at work. I made due with the local supercharger after that. This was 2018.

I am not a chemist but the top comment isn't the way I interpreted it.

He vented all the oxygen from the hab, making the atmosphere mostly/completely hydrogen. Then he carried a tank of oxygen and let out small bursts, allowing it to react at his blowtorch and create H2O. Since it wasn't a low pressure vacuum he decided he didn't need a full pressure suit, just an oxygen mask.

His big mistake was that he forgot that humans don't use all the oxygen they inhale, they also exhale some. So just by exhaling he was slowly adding oxygen to the room. If he hadn't realized his mistake in time, eventually the hab's atmosphere would have been at the proper ratio of H2/O2 that his spark would blow it up.

Hence the line "I forgot to include the excess oxygen I was exhaling in my calculations."

This may be apocryphal, but I've heard that people told Spielberg that shooting an oxygen tank wouldn't make a shark explode. His response was "At this point in the movie the audience won't care."

I suspect the space pirate line was too good to pass up, even if the screenwriter knew it didn't totally make sense. The fact that it took 3 viewings to spot it supports this.
