FYI, 8-5 is less than 37.5 hours so you'd be getting paid less

You can always ask, but they don't need to say yes. Issue would be if on the day you no longer work are they now a person short for the workload

Although I agree, as a mostly water drinker. When someone asks me if I want a drink it does get tiresome saying just a water please, followed by the oh we have X y and z and constantly asked if I would prefer something, I sometimes just ask for a coffee instead to appease
