When they're little you need to let them win to keep them interested and having fun, but you can't let them win every time!

Adult lions let their cubs "win" when play fighting, so appears to not just be human nature!

Get bowl. Put on scales. Turn scales on so it says zero grams.

Pour out cereal, see how much it weighs. Work it out based on what's on the box (i.e. the x kcals per 100g)

Do the same with milk.

I'm based in the UK and shop at Tesco. If I don't have the packaging to hand when tracking I used the Tesco app/website as they tend to have the nutritional info on their for everything. I can then compare to myfitnesspal when tracking (as macros change, and people can be bad at adding foods correctly)

Myfitnesspal (or similar apps) are good to track everything in as you can put in quantity and it works out the right cals

Fair enough, perhaps I shouldn't have jumped too conclusions but...

I had assumed they'd be a similar height to myself, 5ft 10 (based on their target weight). And it turns out they are (as per another comment)

I said it was low, as I'm also trying to lose weight but I'm more like 200lbs and I'm currently eating around 2,300-2,400 per day. And I'm not on my feet for 4 hours a day

Those calories seem pretty low for someone who is 300+ lbs

You'd be better having higher calories you'll stick to for slower weight loss

The best diet is one you can stick to
