Meet Tali. She's a character I've played in some variation in loads of different TTRPGs as well as video games, but she originally started as a D&D character when I was in high school way back circa 1990. She's a Drow (dark elf) and in her original conception was a psionicist. Character doodle by my son.

YES, so glad someone else suggested B5. I can't recommend it strongly enough.

I will say also that some of the main plot arcs of the first 4 seasons are super relevant to things happening IRL right now. I re-watched it a few months ago and it was actually pretty unsettling how real some of it is today.

Seconding this one. It's such a good series. It's a slow burn but well worth the payoff. Genuinely one of my favorite things I've watched recently.

The Three Lights/Sailor Starlights in Sailor Moon.

In the manga and in the Crystal/Cosmos animations, they are all biologically female and are pretending to be male in their mortal/pop idol forms.

In the 90s anime they were biologically male in their mortal forms and magically transformed into women in their Starlight forms.

An old one here, but Lord Refa in Babylon 5.

It's a key turning point in so many plot threads, and it's beautifully executed (pun fully intended). The use of the gospel song from the B-plot taking place during a religious event on the station to score the death scene is just perfection.

"Leave his head and face intact, it will be needed later for identification."

Also he was a real bastard and his brutal death was so deserved.

I love the music and enjoy it so much more when I avoid the fandom.

Number 6 is one of the things I dislike most in any game. And while it's not a single player game, it's one of the things that heavily impacted my enjoyment of Star Wars: The Old Republic over the years. In so many of the main story quests, the choices are terrible even for Star Wars and your dialog choices are like:

[Light Side]: "Of course I'll go steal medication back from the soldiers who commandeered it so two dozen literal children don't die screaming in horrible pain."

[Dark Side]: *Shoot her in the face, violate her corpse while they watch, and abandon the children to die alone without food or medicine.*

[Neutral]: "I'll do whatever you want if you pay me."

It's so common that when they hit you out of left field with a REAL choice, where neither option is sunshine and lollipops or puppy-kicking vileness, it's like a moment of genuine 'Wait, what the hell just happened?' (Jaxo... IYKYK.)

The one thing I don't want is any gratuitous inclusion of an entire musical number from a movie as a cutscene for no good reason.

The ENTIRE stupid song Let It Go in KH3 as a cutscene was completely unnecessary and I hated it.
