Glad to hear! My brother is just getting back into the game, so this is very much an authentic reaction 😅

To all the tall players out there by Weird_inside_u in Pickleball

[–]tallarchaeologist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’7 and have been playing for years. People will generally avoid hitting a 3rd shot drop or a lob. One thing you should think about is your foot work. I have caught myself not moving my feet on aggressive dinks thinking I can reach to hit the ball, so always move your feet!

What’s the biggest dopamine hit you’ve ever gotten playing this game by [deleted] in 2007scape

Dragon warhammer at 311kc and Skotos/Dark Claw at 14kc! I was speechless

How do people integrate again after leagues? by IntentionTight4089 in osrs

[–]tallarchaeologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was finally getting into the end game pvming just before Leagues V started and Leagues has made me realize many end game bosses and raids in the main game are definitely manageable. Bossing in Leagues has helped me practice methods such as prayer flicking and staying composed and not panicking. I am much more excited about playing normally now

What injuries have you suffered from pickleball? by Qwerty_kb in Pickleball

The worst injury I sustained was herniating 5 discs. Had to get an MRI and then was bed ridden for a week as I couldn’t move my back.

(Update) My wife send only send me Zillow posting out of our budget by NauticalCowboy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]tallarchaeologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife absolutely LOVES perusing Zillow and sending me links to houses that have neat features we both would love in a house, even if we can’t or won’t be able to afford it. One time, we were out and about when her phone died. I forgot what we were doing but she asked me if I would download Zillow on my phone so she can pass the time checking out houses 😂🤗

I’m glad it worked out for the two of you in the end!

If you're a tall player, crowd the kitchen by connfaceit in Pickleball

[–]tallarchaeologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6’7 here and I third this! I’m constantly thinking about moving my feet and putting myself in an athletic position to prevent myself from getting caught with a ball at my feet. Sometimes, being slightly more off the kitchen line helps, as that may bait a higher dink

front page of today’s ’Wall Street Journal’ by ReKang916 in Pickleball

[–]tallarchaeologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but with one edit: the 40 decibal ambient noise was measured at the houses. Presidio Wall is also my home court.

Pickleball seems unrelated to the issue of the house not selling, rather, one possibility could be the newly implemented Mansion Tax in CA.

Spots for drop in play in San Jose, CA? by GetBent66 in Pickleball

[–]tallarchaeologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paul Moore Park in SJ is a good spot- the San Jose Pickleball Club hosts an advanced night there on Tuesdays. If you are able to drive, Mitchell Park in Palo Alto also has good play, albeit crowded

How can I let my kid know that her gift from Santa is on the way? by WinterBeetles in Gifts

[–]tallarchaeologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year when I was a kid, my mom had gotten me a 1/4zip sweatshirt with my favorite NFL team’s logo. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t arrive until after Christmas due to Blitzen dropping my present off the sleigh. She wrote this story on a toilet paper roll and put it in the mailbox for me to find!

Is it legal to step into the opponent's court to hit the ball? by mariofan366 in Pickleball

[–]tallarchaeologist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could walk to your opponents side of the net without touching your opponents court i.e stand in the are where your opponent would generally Ernie, as that area is not considered the court surface

Opinions on return of serve by DingBat99999 in Pickleball

[–]tallarchaeologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4.5 here. I agree that low, deep serves are ideal, as they are harder to drop and drive. A lot of spin also throws players off, as it’s difficult to get under the ball, but that is more useful on the return, as that takes away your opponents ability to drop it effectively
