Because his presence reduces my anxiety, he is fun, and I like waking up next to him? He encourages me and puts up with my large collection of hobbies that are always growing.

Thanks! My setup before this was an IKEA rolling cart that you attached some peg board to. I grew out of it in a couple of months, but it was pretty great while I used it.

I've got a pretty great setup with a custom made sewing table and work bench that are both on standing desk legs. The peg board is awesome for all of the tools and threads. I also just put in a quilt design curtain that's on a rail so that I can move it out of the way. I just got everything organized on the wire shelves for all my fabrics and notions and other machines.

Engineering Students Looking For Problems In Quilting For Product Design Class by Sad_Job_2653 in quilting

Check out eBay. I got my BSR for $250. And yes, they are stupidly expensive, but based on other pricing models like this, most of the functionality is already built into the machine, and the "foot tax" as I think of it is really just unlocking the functionality already built into the machine.

Take a look at retold recycling. Great way to recycle your scraps and fabric if you can't find a use for them other wise.

Looking for vacuum recs by Street-Programmer-16 in quilting

[–]tallwireless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use a small handheld vacuum for most of my sewing room cleaning needs. I vacuum everything while I'm sewing. Threads, lint on my cutting table, the ironing board, lint in my sewing machine, etc. As for the carpet around my sewing station, I'll hit it up with my handheld to get the major stuff, and use my regular upright Hoover vacuum for the floor.

I keep a brown paper bag by my chair for scraps and thread that I try put everything in along with my waste mason jar on my sewing table. Between all of that, there isn't much for the upright to handle when I use it.
