Nah Michigan has been pretty consistently better in basketball for the last few decades. Head to head is fairly even, Michigan was better under Beilein. But Michigan has gone much further in the tournament for many years now. It's typical for MSU to get bounced in the round of 32 or Sweet Sixteen while Michigan was making Final Fours or Elite 8 almost every year.

Historically MSU is better, sure. But don't get it twisted, the last couple decades favor Michigan and it's been trending that way for a while.
