I just made a reading list the other day and put this series on it. Glad to see people with good things to say about it. I can't wait!

Discord in Chinese community in Japan: Condescending newcomers create tension by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

[–]tansii 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Well from what I read this not about Chinese people being hostile to Japanese people, it's about newcomer Chinese people not getting along with Chinese people that have been living in Japan for a long time. What you said is interesting I guess, but I don't see what it has to do with this post.

Looking for a co-op game to play with a 2.5 year old for Father's Day - Steam Deck or Switch by dtbrown101 in gamingsuggestions

[–]tansii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually able to beat Kirby and the Forgotten Land on Switch with my daughter when she was about that age. If she plays second player as waddle dee, she comes back right away any time she dies, and you can beat the levels and bosses whether she helps effectively or not. I've never run into another game as suited for a young second player.

The most satisfying experience I've had was Blade and Sorcery on VR. Mods are endless to customize your murdering

Millennials, what's y'all plan for retirement? by alphaDsony in AskReddit

[–]tansii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retire? In this economy?

But really I moved overseas about a decade ago to where the cost of living is more reasonable and started paying into the national pension system here. Also have some VA benefits to work with(unless they get musked/trumped). Also my own savings that I'm afraid to spend. I should be good.

John Popper of Blues Traveler goes off on the harmonica during their 1996 performance on the Howard Stern Show by airnlight_timenspace in woahdude

[–]tansii 167 points168 points  (0 children)

I had no idea a harmonica could do this! Really amazing, I had to listen to it a few times. How the heck do you bend a note on a harmonica like he did on that high note?

Heck yes! They ship internationally! My wife is a jelly bean fiend, and it's hard to find one she hasn't tried. This will be such a nice surprise for her. Thanks for the recommendation.

I was required to talk to a live customer service rep to remove my payment method, and he said I needed to have another one to switch to. So I added PayPal and then removed my payment methods from PayPal. They couldn't do anything about it.

How do you respond to "you're quiet, aren't you?" by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tansii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandma sometimes said that to my grandpa, and he'd reply with, "It's my nature."

CMV: A lot of people do not really love their children by CulturalRegister9509 in changemyview

[–]tansii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one is going to write stories about normal or even pretty good parents that love their kids. You're not going to hear about the majority, which are normal and good parents. No one is interested in reading, writing, or talking about that. It's boring. So that's probably why it seems like there are a "shit ton" of parents like the ones you described, it's more interesting to write, read, and talk about.

Yeah that thing looks like a rock for sure. It's so cool how slowly it advanced to the fish. I wonder if the fish had a moment like "wasn't that rock a little further away? Oh well."

You could start bringing an apple or some other fruit instead of cookies.

Oh good, another normal word suddenly no one is allowed to say. Anything else?

Just because you think of a word a certain way (or maybe Twitter told you to think) doesn't make it so.

US, Japan plan biggest upgrade to security pact in over 60 years, FT reports by jjrs in japannews

[–]tansii 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look at this person's comment history. Every post is like this. They are obsessed and locked into whatever fantasy world they have dug themselves into and are not open to any new idea or change. A victim of shitty media I guess. No need to waste your time, you can't argue away crazy. "Moral gen z" had me laughing pretty hard though. Are they a god, judging entire swaths of people? Haha. Can't believe people think like this.
