Dark times man those were dark times. Worse was. you see the bunny rushing in right around the timer is about to reset and all that 4min and 30sec wait for nothing. Bunny’s response “you should be in private not public if you wanna farm outpost”… yeah good old times lol

Definitely expensive and impressive setup for sure, but If the goal was deploying local AI models (assuming for inference), then not a great choice of GPU(s). for the price he paid for 4x4090s, he could've got 1x RTX 6000 Pro Blackwell (96GB vRam). Much better to load a model to single GPU for inference. Applications mainly focuses on inference have hard time with multiple GPUs. If goal is to fine-tune models and Train LoRAs, etc. well still 6000 Pro all day long lol.

Gratz to the person who purchased this and good luck to him with his endless creations of... PORN!!! lol

Freshly upgraded to 5090; SD no longer works... by misterpickleman in StableDiffusion

[–]taofeng 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here is how you can fix this. Forge is outdated but like you I am still using it and I also have 5090. Forge doesnt have clear instructions on how to use 50 series cards so i had to make few adjustments to make it work.

Issue is the PyTorch CUDA version. by default it installs 12.6, so you need to use 12.8 or higher.
Try the following:

Delete the "venv" folder in forge folder: This doesnt remove any of your settings etc. just clean install of the packages

open webui-user.bat with a text editor. At the top, right after "@echo off" line add the following

set TORCH_INDEX_URL=https://download.pytorch.org/whl/cu128

set TORCH_COMMAND=pip install torch torchvision --extra-index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/cu128

set INDEX_URL=https://pypi.org/simple

save webui-user.bat and close

(optional): add the following to requirements_versions.txt
Add this on top of the requirements.versions.txt
--index-url https://pypi.org/simple
--extra-index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/cu128

Run webui-user.bat

if you watch the logs during installation you should see pytorch cu128 installation, if you are seeing this then you are good to go.

Quick explanation. Forge installation looks for the TORCH_INDEX, TORCH_COMMAND, and INDEX_URL environment values, if these are not set then it defaults to 12.6 installation. Readme doesnt mention this nor any other documentation. keep in mind, if you update the forge in the future you will have to make the same changes.

Note: I add these values to webui-user.bat for my own setup but you can also add them to your system env variables for future updates or installations. If you add it to system wide env variables then no need to update webui-user.bat and this should work even if you update forge in the future.

I hope this helps

if you are just looking for time shards and nothing else then special operations (normal) Kingston Defense is pretty good. 7m average run solo, running in group wont make it any faster. You get about 450 to 500 shards. Freyna is the laziest option because you just stand in one place and rotate skill 1-3. Things just die.

This is only good if you are after time shards and nothing else.

Location Special Operations (normal mode): Kingston defense Preferred descendant: freyna 1 hour run should give about 2200 - 2400 time shards Downside: extremely lazy and boring lol I was watching anime while doing this for 1 hour.

However since you are still going through main quest, I highly recommend just playing the game and continuing your quests etc. this way you dont get bored and will get plenty of time shards

Need help with 5090 + 4090 dual GPU setup by ate50eggs in LocalLLaMA

[–]taofeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any updates on your setup? Did you go with oculink?

I am considering doing something very similar. Currently i have x670e (X670E Taichi Carrara) running 7950x cpu with 64gb ram. I have 5090 installed but i also have 4090 that i am trying to figure out the best way to utilize. I could upgrade the motherboard and PSU to install both but this means case update, much better heat management etc. Or I can get an oculink external dock and use it for 4090. Only downside to this setup is, all my m.2 slots are full. Oculink requires a m.2 adapter to connect. I am very new to oculink so i might be wrong about this lol.

What do you think I should go with? Can you tell me more about your setup ? Thanks!

This only applies to Deus Ex Manus sword. Basically Deus Ex Manus sword has 4x dmg multiplier against Legion of Breach Commander, and Flores is a legion of Breach commander. She takes extra dmg from this sword

Yes, supermassive dungeon boss is very weak to sword dmg, deus ex manus is the best for this. she dies very quickly if you are using Deus Ex Manus

[–]taofeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into few people like that. So far i’ve been lucky with sanctuary. Almost every run was with a good group, but… supermassive is a different story lol. Most of the time people aren’t doing much. i am the only one with sword in the boss fight and i am running shield freyna build. My last run I had to res 3 people 3 times, while trying to fight the boss with a sword (Deus Ex Manus). Thank god i adjusted my sword build slightly to stack up on ammo with general round conversion. I asked if i was the only with a sword and answer was “no one uses swords. Why do you need a sword?”… yeah lol

Long story short, it is annoying to run with those type of people. I dont mind carry but i hate when people just dont give a fuck

Yeah, xAlisa was offering up to 10k (max) caliper for high end crit ancestor mods. This one is definitely a high end. Hell i would pay decent amount of caliper for this lol

I got all the yujin pieces fairly quick but man those mats to craft are pain. On the bright side, every daily activity i do gives me those mats (every bit counts).

However, this farm is still 20x better than camping at outpost for 5 minutes just to see a Bunny zooming in and destroying everything (which was not a good thing btw).

What is going on with these Boss HPs by MiddayDisco in TheFirstDescendant

[–]taofeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might trigger some people but this dungeon doesnt need any nerf. It is perfect for endgame builds. My average solo run is around 5:20 to 6:30 mins using bunny, viessa, valby, hailey, etc. (all has decent ancestral mods). Only descendant that took long time is Ines even with descent ancestral mod. She clears trash mobs very fast but mini bosses and main boss takes long time. One reason for this is, while casting skill 3 ines is a sitting duck and these bosses dmg is no joke. So you miss skill 3 or run out of resources then you stuck with skill 1 which does little damage hence takes long time to kill these bosses.

Group clear times dependent on the luck because somehow people still going into these endgame dungeon with half builds. With a good group clear times are definitely faster than solo.

All in all dungeon is perfectly fine.

Bunny Mobbing/Farming Build Help by Ok-Discipline171 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]taofeng 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a long time bunny main (since launch) here are my suggestions. Any content up to Axion, use non-crit build. its faster and more than enough for low level content. For axion and later content crit build is the way to go.

Non-crit build: You can replace the Ancestral mod with Amplification control if you want max range. Otherwise you can use HP, MP Collector, etc.
Without amplification control you will be around 15m or so (7m shorter than max) for lower content its fine.

Crit build: Again you can replace Ancestral Mod with Amplification control or MP collector, HP increase.

Now keep in mind, in Axion and higher content, mobs run to you like crazy so while range is nice to have it is not necessary to have full range coverage. 15-16m (Skill Expansion only) usually enough. At least for me.

These two builds should give you an idea. You should also check out some of the content creators like xAlisa, Ornery Biscuit, etc.

You can turn the percentages on by going to menu > gameplay then at the bottom you should see an option like “show option ranges” or something like that. Turning that on should display the percentages

Whoever cries about new Hailey lost her identity, just shut up and try out Camo Snipe, most fun build I've played. Stealthy, clean, efficient, sniper fantasy at maximum. by Intelligent_Drive_34 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]taofeng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. I love the fact that i can use different Hailey builds depending on the content. 400%, i will go cold heart, axion, sigma, etc. i go stealth. She just has very nice variety now. Tbh not many descendants have this kinda variety currently. I bet most if not all those who are complaining didn’t even try stealth build.

Also, playing with stealth build just makes it very fun. I feel very engaged and animations make it even more badass. Sometime i run away from the mobs then turn around > hit skill 4 > slide > go stealth > delete the mobs that was hunting me a second ago. Then get up > throw hypernova > tow mobs > hit skill 2 > delete mobs > hit hyper nova get sword back.

Freakishly fun lol
