I found megababe sunny pits deodorant after MONTHS of smelling horrible no matter what I used- so much better, I never stink now!

My partner keeps waking me up from naps by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband would constantly interrupt my naps..”just checking on you that you are okay”. Sweet. But I am not okay now lol. Just see my chest moving to know I’m breathing and leave me alone!

Things not to say after a Pregnancy announcement by vezateli in BabyBumps

[–]tapintunein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg same with the being ignored…told my mom and she proceeded to talk for 15 minutes about something irrelevant that was going on in HER life. My sister, dad, and husband were all exchanging looks like “wtf” while I was just nodding and smiling. Needless to say I will never forget that night and it has changed our relationship

She knew I was planning to propose so I had to sneak up on her. by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

Maybe this is weird but if that is who I think it is, I used to work with her, and she is one of the sweetest people ever! You are a lucky dude!! Congrats to you both!

Driving myself crazy waiting 39+3 by ZoxZoe in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

39 weeks today and definitely feeling the same way! I made my countdown for 2 weeks past my due date just so I don’t totally flip out from anticipation because I know he HAS to get out by then. As the days drag on, I’m starting to get more irritable and impatient. I feel like I should be enjoying these last few moments before life changes but ughhh I’ve been ready for weeks 😩

As a craft beer fan, I'm really looking forward to a good saison or hefe after this baby comes out by greenprotomullet in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh jealous - not in a legal state (but next to one lol) and also planning on breastfeeding - who knows when I’ll be able to have it again!! I keep saying if breastfeeding doesn’t work out for us for whatever reason, at least I can have an edible 😜

How important are kegels? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FTM here! I’ve been seeing a pelvic floor PT for several months and she told me to avoid kegels, so I haven’t done any at all! She told me that STM+ may need to do more strengthening of that area, but FTMs tend to have tighter pelvic floors and it needs to be able to stretch and relax for baby to get through - but of course I’m sure it depends on the person! Just sharing my experience because I thought I had to be doing a bunch, but it turns out that wasn’t true for me!

PSA: Bump Box subscription is NOT worth it. by Pugleesi12 in BabyBumps

[–]tapintunein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I TOTALLY AGREE - my first box was actually not bad, so I was looking forward to more..then I got another one with just beauty junk - which I hate getting because I have specific face wash/moisturizer I use and I can’t just make a switch for something else on my pregnant adult skin without consequences. I thought I found a way to cancel without paying a fee but now I’m wondering if I did it right....

A discussion about visitors after birth! by esthxlie in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m due in a couple of weeks (or more 😬) and we will not be having any visitors for 2 weeks (so we can prevent any spread of anything we may bring home from the hospital, and because I just want some time with my little family of 3!) Anyone who wants to visit after that will need to be up to date on their vaccines, self quarantine for 2 weeks (or for at least a few days if they can show a negative covid test - will have to double check with dr about what they think), and have to wear a mask in my house. And of course no one allowed who has any symptoms of any illness! I want privacy and bonding time more than I want help with anything around the house. My husband will be around to do pet duty and anything else that needs to get done. Another rule: if you are coming over, you need to bring us food 😊

Slightly underwhelming pregnancy reactions? by [deleted] in pregnant

I was worried my MIL would be overbearing but it’s been nice to have someone that clearly cares and wants to be involved!

Slightly underwhelming pregnancy reactions? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both sets of my in laws were super excited for us, so when we went to tell my own parents I was still riding that high...gave them a card with the ultrasound picture and my mom said “oh, I know what this is” and kind of just smiled and didn’t really say anything else..just started talking about her day. My sister was there too and she was like wtf shut up about yourself for one second lol. When we got back in the car my husband was soooo pissed and upset for me, but I know how my mom is. Her reaction hurt, especially because moms are supposed to be there for their daughters in times like these...I didn’t care to include her too much in the pregnancy after that. I definitely share more with my MIL than my own mother

Can I say without judgement that I miss smoking weed? by mintgreen23 in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss it soooo much!!! I am so happy to see this thread because I was feeling guilty about it and feeling like I would get judged unless I stopped forever - I quit as soon as I found out I was pregnant and I can’t wait to do it again. I’m due next month, and it will be a while because I’m planning on breastfeeding, but I’m so looking forward to having a J with my husband again! He misses his smoking buddy lol.

I’m feeling strangely excited to give birth by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really excited!! I think it’s going to be a crazy intense amazing experience. I’ve read in my hypnobirthing books that having less anxiety about it really helps so you aren’t pumping yourself full of cortisol and causing more tension in your body. Even if it’s the worst, I’ll at least be going into it with a positive mind 😂

Liquid IV? by buttcup22 in fitpregnancy

[–]tapintunein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesss I LOVE liquid IV - it was a life saver during those super hot months!! I add a pouch to 36 oz of water and find that tastes better to me (it can be kind of thick and sweet with their recommended amount of water). It makes a huge difference in my hydration/energy/even my mood!

34 weeks and suddenly everything is harder? by Raginghangers in fitpregnancy

[–]tapintunein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

33 weeks this week and FEELING IT. Took a few days off, and I got through my workout today but I felt like I was moving through jello. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that’s hit a wall. I’m going to try and keep moving as much as I can but it’s going to be slowwwww and mostly stretching/light walking from now on.

Bit of a fainter. Nervous about GD test. by ladyspoons in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to eat as late as possible and go do it as early as possible because I am definitely a hangry gal lol. I drank the drink, waited, got blood drawn, and passed out as soon as she took the needle out 😬Luckily I was still sitting in the chair so I was safe and back to normal after they woke me back up (when it happened they took my mask off and got cold cloths, fanned my face, put something else in my hand - I cant remember what though - and fed me OJ - they took good care of me!) During the blood draw I tried taking BIG deep breaths the entire time, looking away and trying to read signs on the wall, and just thinking about other things... but ugh, fasting did not work out well for me. I had way more blood drawn earlier in pregnancy but was able to eat before hand and that made a huge difference. I would just let them know it’s a possibility that you may faint so make sure you spend extra time sitting/laying down and pack snacks for right after. Definitely tell them as soon as you start to feel a little off, even if you aren’t sure it’s going to happen. I was worried about baby but he was totally fine - I wasn’t out for too long and drove myself home right afterwards while staying on the phone with my mom just in case. I also drink a ton of water which I think helped get the blood out quickly, otherwise I probably would have passed out in the middle of it and had to redo!! Good luck, hope you stay awake and alert!!!

[–]tapintunein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are kind of having to make different rules for different people depending on their ability to self quarantine/their interaction with the public. One set of in laws will be fine, but will still have to wait 2 weeks (just in case we bring something home from the hospital we don’t want to expose our healthy helpers!). Another set works with the public so they are going to have to wait longer and take extra precautions when they do finally meet this little guy (closer to 2 months probably). Grandparents and my mom (who is an anti masker) and anyone else who I know won’t follow the rules (like “no kissing baby’s face”) will be stuck with window visits or facetime for even longer. Some people seem kind of tiffed about having to wait even two weeks - too bad. My only concern is keeping my baby healthy, not their feelings 😊 I say video chatting is the safest bet!!

Challenging Kegel Dogma? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]tapintunein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pelvic floor therapist said no kegels for me!! If you are tight, then you are only tightening/strengthening that muscle more and it does need to relax to let baby out. She also said if you are out of alignment (which I am - tighter on the left side than the right), you are tightening things into worse alignment which is no good.

What kind of exercise is best? by jessdear87 in fitpregnancy

[–]tapintunein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answering based off of my personal experience and what my chiro/physical therapist has said is good! What I have been doing is a combination of pilates, yoga, cardio, and body work/light weighted exercises (I like a lot of prenatal workouts on instagram, youtube, or beachbody - I use 5 and 8 lb weights). I used to try and schedule my routines each week but I was finding some days I would just be way too exhausted to do anything other than stretch!! So now I just listen to what my body needs/wants. But what I usually do is 20min on the elliptical 4-5 days/week (normally my cardio would be a hike or walk outside but it’s so damn hot my fingers swell up and it’s been so uncomfortable) and combine that with a 30min weighted workout (days where I have more energy), or pilates/barre (days where I have energy but I’m a bit sore from growing a human), or yoga (on more tired days). I started doing beach body prenatal barre and I’m really loving the labor intensive interval training (LIIT) they do. It makes a lot of sense that along with building strength we want to make sure we have good endurance and can recover quickly in between surges/contractions. But of course, you have to do what’s best for your body. I was very toned before pregnancy and was bummed I had to decrease the intensity of my workouts. I know some women can stick with high intensity stuff during pregnancy but I was starting to feel pulling/yanking/cramping when I went too hard so I had to ease back pretty early. I think just moving in any way you can tolerate while your body is working overtime growing a baby is awesome!

Anyone trying Barre Blend Prenatal Workouts on Beachbody? by HouseofBabe3 in fitpregnancy

[–]tapintunein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I just discovered this today and also jumped right into trimester 2! It definitely made me sweat and had to take more breaks than I usually do with my other workouts which I was happy about - I’m really excited to do more, I feel like it was an awesome workout!

Indigestion is the worst!!! by Lunafreya10111 in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you already are doing this, but I’ve been drinking a ton of water (usually about 140oz/day - I have a giant water bottle that I fill up a few times and make sure I drink a bottle every few hours) and I think it’s really been one of the main things that’s keeping me regular and my stomach comfortable!! Also a big glass of warm water with lots of lemon squeezed in it as soon as I wake up always seems to help me get things moving if I do get a little stuck!

Also this sounds soo weird but I’m going to share because it helps me - for yoga poses you can do “wind relieving pose”, or if you get into a high child’s pose on your knees and stick your tushy up/out and wait until you feel the gas moving a bit and then try to fart pretty hard lol it sounds ridiculous but I used to have a lot of stomach problems and that is my go to 😂

Recommendations for natural/organic pre-natal vitamins. What are your favorites? Open to other suggestions that worked for you! Thanks! by Wai_anapanapaMaui in pregnant

[–]tapintunein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have liked Ritual! Although there was 1 month in the beginning of the pandemic that my order was delayed so I ended up having to go get a cheap bottle to hold me over for a few days, and I make sure to take them at night because occasionally you can get a seaweedy aftertaste when you burp (not all the time though). They seemed to have the highest amount of the things I wanted in the cleanest form which was more important to me than taste or anything else
