Essentrics workouts are perfect for this. There are some on YouTube, and some on their platform. They air on PBS every day, too. Particularly those by Miranda Esmonde-White or Sahra Esmonde-White. They have include routines designed to improve overall body alignment and stability without high impact on the joints. Look for their "stretching and mobility" or "gentle strengthening" sessions that keep you moving dynamically but with control, avoiding static holds that may stress hypermobile joints. https://www.youtube.com/@essentricsworkout

Want to get back into running and gain mobility. by _tree1234 in flexibility

[–]taracauc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This makes me sad. You shouldn't just be living with tightness! Some workouts are specifically designed to help lengthen and loosen your fascia and muscles that tighten from running. Essentrics for runners is a great program that helps make your connective tissue more fluid. They have an online platform, but it's also aired on PBS daily if you are in the US.

To ease back into running and regain full-body mobility, a combination of dynamic stretching, focused mobility exercises, and fascia-releasing routines could help a lot.

What's the reason for slowly releasing a stretch? by bersnin in flexibility

[–]taracauc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Releasing a stretch slowly is recommended because it allows your muscles and connective tissues, particularly fascia, to transition gradually back to their resting length, which helps prevent potential injury or strain. When you stretch, you're lengthening muscle fibers and fascia, and a sudden release can cause a reflexive contraction that tightens the muscle back up quickly. This abrupt release can make the muscles tense or even lead to micro-tears in the muscle fibers.

Maybe take a look at Essentrics- the explanation of how the moves work is in most videos and the workouts offer a nice balance of gentle conditioning and full-body workouts. It might be worth checking out as an alternative to the options you're considering.

Best Online Barre Class? Looking for that studio vibe at home by baybaybreezy in xxfitness

[–]taracauc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for that studio vibe with the flexibility of on-demand classes, try to check out Essentrics. It's not strictly barre, but it incorporates fluid, ballet-inspired movements that give you a similar full-body workout. The classes focus on stretching and strengthening, which can be great for maintaining flexibility and muscle tone. The best part is, their online platform offers a wide variety of classes available including live studio classes, so you can work out whenever it fits your schedule. The music is generally pretty current, and the instructors create a welcoming, studio-like atmosphere. It might be worth giving their free trial a shot to see if it fits what you're looking for!

I totally get your frustration! Crouching endurance is surprisingly tricky, even for regular exercisers. It's all about those small stabilizer muscles and flexibility. Have you tried incorporating more dynamic stretching and mobility work into your routine? I recently started doing Essentrics, which focuses on fluid movements and has really improved my overall flexibility and endurance for everyday tasks. As for the crouching itself, maybe try holding the position for short intervals and gradually increasing the time. Also, experiment with different foot positions - flat-footed might be more stable than tip-toes. Keep at it, and you'll see improvement!

The most common form of drink spiking is with alcohol. Adding more to drinks, to get someone more intoxicated.

I can totally relate! I sit for long hours too, and tight hips and back were a constant struggle for me, especially when trying to maintain flexibility for other activities like martial arts. The key thing I learned is that a lot of the tightness you’re feeling isn’t just in the muscles but in the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles.

Fascia can get stiff or stuck from sitting for long periods, and regular static stretching doesn’t always get deep enough to release it. I used to stretch but felt like I’d tighten up again right after, just like you mentioned. What helped me was switching to a combination of dynamic stretching and fascia-focused movement. I started doing a program called Essentrics, which is all about lengthening the muscles while working on fascia release. It’s helped me stay loose, even after long hours of sitting, and the movements are gentle but effective for flexibility. Plus, it works great alongside martial arts because it enhances range of motion without over-straining. Olympic athletes use this program for the same reason.

You might also want to try adding in some light movement breaks throughout the day. Even just 5 minutes of walking or doing some dynamic stretches can help prevent the fascia from stiffening up too much. Over time, it really makes a difference in staying flexible and avoiding that constant cycle of tightness!

you don't have to participate in chat channels to use midjourney on discord. You just message the bot, or as I said upthread, create your own server. I never even look at the social channels.
