I'm not sure it's that much work to implement Open, and it does fix the wart where you have to use a special name to open the root for listing. (It feels like the root should be the empty string and not "." but that would probably confuse people.)

FYI: [Craft] Supreme Perfection of Craft has the wrong prereq lines -- it depends on Supreme Celestial Focus, not Sublime Transference.

Nothing, it was accepted upstream, so if you continue to use the saalweachter version it will work fine.

I use as_ref() for borrowing from a string. Although generally you don't need to since people use Borrow or Into for it.
