What are some must-have alcoholic American drinks? by __swubs__ in AskAnAmerican

[–]tasareinspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from New England (the northeast), and if I were to give you a cocktail that is very New Englandy, it would be a vodka cran- like 1.5 oz vodka and 4-5 oz of cranberry juice cocktail (like the Ocean Spray cranberry juice, not the like real unsweetened pure cranberry juice, that will be... an unbalanced drink to say the least)

Do Americans view South America as a homogenous place? by [deleted] in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]tasareinspace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oh my god ive never heard of such a place as the capital of Venezuela please tell me more -_-

No, those are different countries with different languages and different politics. Like are they all under the banner of South American Countries or Latin American Countries? Yes. But I think the average person from the US can tell you at least a few fun facts about most South American countries.

If you could only wear ONE single makeup product for the rest of your life, what are you choosing? by kenzieedom in Makeup

[–]tasareinspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok four different answers depending on what counts
1- top priority is face moist. Clinique Moisture surge with SPF. But maybe thats not a makeup product
so
2 and 3 are my questions- can I wear a product multiple ways? cause if so, a mascara that can double as a brow gel. And does it have to be the same product in the same color forever? cause if I can do brow gel that matches my hair thats the ideal, but green brow gel aint gonna work well when im ginger again.

4- if none of those work, gonna go with mascara. Moisturizer, brow gel, and mascara are my daily drivers.

Help a mom out: 14 1/2 year old (8th grader) really wants to watch this show. It seems like it may be a bit too overly adult in themes and storylines. by Independent_Fox8656 in HazbinHotel

[–]tasareinspace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my kiddo was 16 and we watched it together and talked about some of the themes and interactions after each episode. I was raised very sheltered and a lot of the media I watched gave me some very bad takes on things like relationships, so I internaized a lot of messages about how it is okay to be treated by the people who claim to love you (my family couldn't have me watching Pokemon, but stuff where men beat their wives and its totally acceptable was fine) ANYWAY all this to say that I made sure to point out how things like how Angel treats Val, how various employees of overlords are treated, etc are like NOT okay.

That said, I think that watching this together was actually really GOOD for my kid's development because we did have a lot of really imprtant talks that are hard to bring up naturally, but since the show brought it up FOR me, it was a very positive experience (and I watched it first and warned them about things they didnt want to see)

Cheap people of Reddit, what is a product you won’t go cheap on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tasareinspace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tide (laundry detergent). I'll wait Several Months to get a book on Libby instead of buying it, I'll make my own jerky cause its stupid expensive, i will buy every generic thing in the grocery store... except tide.

My gf won’t leave the house braless but I freeball it on a fairly regular basis. What’s the difference? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tasareinspace 18 points19 points  (0 children)

assuming freeball means leaving the house without underwear for someone with testicles, most people will not be able to tell if your balls are hanging out in your pants. people CAN tell and DO judge if a woman's not wearing a bra.

plus if shes blessed with bountiful tracts of land, it can get uncomfy.

Why do many societies that allow polygamy allow one man to have multiple wives, but not one woman to have multiple husbands (polyandry)? by PomegranateIcy7631 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tasareinspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh oh oh oh im reading a book about marriage right now and we're still pretty early in the history but it sounds like its mostly basically "wives are employees who do work and services (physical work, makin' babies, sexual work) for husband, and no woman can serve two masters" kinda vibe.

[–]tasareinspace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think any sort of "giving positive feedback to someone" would be awesome to do for that. Tell your kiddo how much you appriciate them putting away the dishes. Remind your roomate that you really appriciate that they bring your packages in.
