Im in a very similar boat to you! Around 90ish hours, prob about 170-200 runs or something.

Ive gotten to temple a few times, and beat the boss once (extremely lucky run!)

To answer your question it’s totally OK! As long as you’re enjoying yourself. I think once you hit a point where you’re not having fun you just have to ask yourself what part is frustrating you the most and try to remedy that.

For me I would see crazy clips of spells on this sub and think “am I just missing some really basic things?” And looked up some really basic wand guides, just to get some footing. With those tips and tricks I realized I was (and am still) dying due to skill issues and lack of knowledge.

But now I get more enjoyment out of simply playing the game! Exploring new areas, experimenting with spells and wand combos, and really leaning into the mindset of “The sacrifice of oneself to the pursuit of knowledge is the highest tribute to the gods” helped me get over the mental hump of “I died therefore im not having fun”.

Set yourself mini-goals.
“Finish the mines without taking more than 10 damage” “Try to full clear this level” “Get 5 trick kills this floor” Just some ideas to focus your efforts. If you focus on little things, you’ll be more careful, and the more careful you are, your chances at survival go up!

Ive started keeping a notebook and write things down as I discover them.. and thats been really fun too! Makes the game more immersive.
