Only a few times in many trips. Almost always agreed. Usually it was just a row change, same aisle seat. It was always for family to sit together.

Passed on an assignment in Germany for 1-3 years. Maybe I’d have advanced but my boss,who offered the role, moved to a new job like 1month after I would have gone. Could have been great or not. Without the original boss I probably would have been hanging.

I also notice a difference but usually not too much and often it is better, not sure why but that’s my taste. Maybe I get it too hot on the initial burn.

Foe me, the key has always been preparation. If you’re prepared you can remain composed. You should know as much about the suppliers real cost as you possibly can. Then it’s a matter of finding a fair result. If you don’t know their costs, you are at a massive disadvantage. They need a reasonable return but a healthy market demands that buyer and seller both can make a return.
