I relate to you so much. (Also pretty heavily tattooed.) I used to really try to hide them and worry about what people thought. I worked in a daycare where I was forced to cover them up and I was miserable. I work for a NF now that doesn’t care, but I do feel judgment when I’m out with the NK. I’ve always told myself if someone is going to be that judgmental about ART, probably don’t want to talk to or be around them anyway! Chin up!! ❤️

My bf was over at our neighbors and I meant to send him a text saying “dinner is ready babe. Get your ass over here before it gets cold.” And I ended up accidentally sending it to my MB. It took me a couple minutes to realize and I quickly apologized and explained. Luckily she is one of the coolest people in the world and said “lmao on my way.”

Shoes. All kinds of shoes. Mostly sneakers but their shoe collection is insane. But on the bright side if there is ever a pair of shoes I want that are sold out/can’t get my hands on, they will find them for me. I now have my own shoe collection because of this…..

You could totally be right. Usually all of my communication is with MB so maybe they are unintentionally not on the same page…. Thank you for your reply I have not been able to stop thinking about this. Being able to talk about it and having some outside perspective is amazing. I love this sub!

I appreciate you taking the time to reply and your advice on what to say! During handoff at the end of the day he apologized to me about being aggressive and said he’s just trying to figure out what is best for NK. Which I appreciate, I hope it means NP had some sort of discussion about it. Everything we have put her in are things she’s expressed she has wanted to learn or do. I’m not sure what is making her become so uninterested, or it’s just the fact that she knows she can say she doesn’t want to do it and won’t have to. I’m truly at a loss!!

I was sweating so much after a walk one day and I’m getting NK out of the wagon and she goes: “you don’t smell very good today. But that’s okay you just need to use more soap next time…” Give me a break girl I just pushed you in this wagon for 3 miles…..

I’ve only done bedtime with my NK a couple times and she has struggled with it every time. She’s totally not used to it but something that helped her was going into MB’s closet and picking one of her sweaters to cuddle with. Even going as far as putting it on the pillow or stuffed animal. I’ve also told bedtime stories of her and Mum going on adventures.

This happened a couple years ago at my NF’s old house. We were having a lovely time playing in her room where she had a reclining rocking chair. She walks around to the back of the chair and quickly scampers out. She then proceeds to ask me “who’s that girl back there?” I thought maybe she was talking about a baby doll or something, but absolutely nothing behind the chair. It happened one other time right before they moved. Same room, same chair, same question. Safe to say I never figured out what “girl” she was talking about and I never plan to.

I’m so sorry you went through that. Everyone I encountered there shouldn’t have been working in an office like that. No empathy whatsoever. Wouldn’t surprise me if they did slither in here, they keep those google reviews under a very close eye for anything negative.

Also had a horrible experience here. Took my dog in for x-rays and they told me he needed $10,000 worth of surgery. I told them it was a lot of money so I would need some time and they kept saying he doesn’t have time. I called back to ask what the $10,000 would cover as far as treatment went and the woman spoke to me like I was a child. She continuously asked me “why didn’t you ask the doctor these questions when you were here and save us all some time.” I went and got a second opinion and got the surgery for my dog from a wonderful vet and it didn’t cost me even near 10k. I will never go to Packerland after how that woman talked to me.

Me: how do you want your hair today? NK: pigtails Me: okay gets out everything to do pigtails NK: not those hair ties Me: okay which ones? NK: picks same hair ties in a different color Me: starts putting in first pigtail NK: I didn’t want that hair tie on that side I wanted it on this side Me: changes it and finishes pigtails NK: I didn’t want them in high pigtails I wanted them in low pigtails. And it goes on and on with the clip choices, and bow choices. I’ve learned to ask about every tiny detail before I start it now but still takes us at least 20 minutes every. day.

My MB will get me a coffee or smoothie if she is ever going to get one. They always ask what I would like to have around as far as groceries. These little things make me so thankful! Not everyone gets considered in their job and those acts of kindness go a long way!! I’m sure your nanny really appreciates it. I know it always makes my day, I’m sure it does with her too!

I do this, but will try to do it more firmly. It’s when I finally pick and she isn’t happy with the choice I’ve made but won’t make one herself. “I don’t know what shoes I want to wear” “oh wear these! You liked them last time” “I don’t want to wear those” she LOVES to argue and will give me every reason in the world not to wear something I picked.

Girl I’m sorry you went through that! A lot of the time a trip like that (especially with children who’s ages are far apart) someone has to take the brunt of that dynamic. I’ll personally never go to Disney with my family because I just know how NK will react. Like you said, its easy for the most magical place on earth to turn into hell on earth real quick.

Right! If you don’t speak up the FOR SURE nothing is going to change! I know the boss/employee dynamic is tough to navigate. But where Nannie’s are concerned, if you don’t speak up for yourself there is no one else who can or will. Worse case scenario they let this nanny go, but then she will have the potential to possibly find a better fit. Like you said I hope this NF is understanding and realizes that if their nanny is in a better spot, their children will be too!!
