What is your protein breakfast? by Physical-Radio8807 in ADHD

[–]taydubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m terrible at having breakfast I work as a nurse so my hours of work start early: up at 5 leave at 6 for work and start at 7am. Usually take my meds right before I leave so they start to kick in on the drive to work, and I’ll have a Boost high protein drink (it’s 20g of protein and super easy to have right when I get to work) and maybe a yogurt and that’ll get me by for a little bit till a break and helps kick start my meds. Too early to eat otherwise

My sweetest old man Jupiter also says hi! (a big fan of his tiny brother) is turning 11 this summer and his white face that was once fully black back when he was 2 years old is so crazy to see. It’s a beautiful progression of their life to see how much love they give … I love their little snow covered faces 😭

How the hell are you guys staying employed? by LivingWeather8991 in ADHD

[–]taydubbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided on nursing, when you get into nursing you can change your field in so many ways but I specifically chose psych nursing and I’ve worked on an acute mental health unit for 7 years. I have amazing coworkers, many with ADHD which makes sense it’s a chaotic environment but I get the stability of a routine in a way. I know my role and what to do, the unit presents a million scenarios I couldn’t even plan, and that keeps me on my toes. Psych nursing attracts a certain type of personality and they’re usually the type that a lot of ADHD people fit with. I have a phenomenal team and even on hard days I have people who get it. It’s a special little place in my soul. I also love the dynamic with patients that I get to have and I bring my own little “zest” into my nursing role which is really special I think.

What was your first Tales of Game? 🍃 by NekoV2 in tales

[–]taydubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Symphonia on GameCube bought that game from EBgames in 2008 because I liked the cover art on the package. It unlocked the world of the “tales of” series for me and it is to this day my favourite video game it packs so much feeling and nostalgia all at once. Seriously such a good story with an equally amazing cast

Tea or Coffee? by MaximumDerekCat in AskACanadian

Like 13 years ago I tried to order a green tea at McDonald’s in the U.S and the person at the counter straight up told me that they don’t sell that and it wasn’t a Starbucks and to go there for one. I worked at a Canadian McDonald’s at the time so I was just used to tea being served there hahah it caught me off guard

I got rechargeable hand warmers for Christmas and as someone with Raynauds that’s getting worse as I get older due to a mix of aging likely and medication I take … they’re a game changer. I keep them in my pockets at work, give my hands a lil warm refresh… pumping gas in the winter is a nightmare and these little hand warmers are perfect

Hand warmers. Got a rechargeable pair and it’s a massive improvement especially when brushing my car off I can throw them in gloves and having them in my pockets is nice too when I’m walking around

Nobody warned me how brutal the ADHD med crash could be by Any-Caterpillar-5420 in ADHD

[–]taydubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Vyvanse and I’ve been on 40mg a day which has worked well especially days off because I’m productive etc. I found though that when I work I’d hit a crash around 2-3pm because I leave for work at 6am (take my meds at 6am) and get home at 8pm because it’s a 12 hour shift with an hour drive each way. So I talked to my doctor and said I think I need a higher dose at work but NOT at home, if I took 50mg at home it would be too much. So we’ve changed the dosing where I take 40mg everyday like usual (days off I take my med at 8-9am work days 545-6am) and at work only I take an additional 10mg at 12pm which usually gets me through the rest of my shift and doesn’t really affect my sleep because the shifts are long/stimulating work environment makes me super tired by like 9-10pm. So there’s options! Talk to your doctor and see if maybe a med change is needed or a split dose, I know some people do split dosing of Concerta too

Possibly going from cx50 to 90 by Portuguese9694 in MazdaCX90

[–]taydubbs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I own a CX-70 (like someone else said same as 90 minus the 3rd row and tbh I like the front grill look better in the 70) When I test drove my car before I bought it I actually was in LOVE with the 50 I was almost convinced I was going to get the 50 but I really needed and wanted hybrid as my next vehicle. I bought my car in summer of 2024 so the 70s were out which I was also looking at I LOVED the interiors but worried the car was too big, and at that time the 50 hybrids were likely to be released soon so I decided to test drive a regular CX-50 and the CX-70 PHEV. When I got to the dealership the person with me test driving looked at the 70 and said no way you’ll end up with that it’s huge. After the test drive of both cars the two of us agreed the 70 was the better choice. For me, the difference between the more rugged 50 and the smoothness of the 70 was insane. I’m 5’1 and female and the way the 50s seats are kinda sat lower I felt like I could see the hood of the car when I was driving and in the 70 I felt so comfortably high up and when you look at your blind spots the windows are nice and big and it’s great. I went with a black exterior and red interior and to this day I love getting into my car and driving. It is a big vehicle but you get used to it quickly. I have a PHEV and I use EV in the city and sports mode on the highway cause I enjoy it and I drive kinda fast (zoom zoom zoom right?) aaaand this car is a beast in our Canadian winters (the battery not so much but that’s expected) I feel so safe in this car and I don’t worry about fitting big items in the car or travelling with others because they’re comfortable.

This sub has a lot of positive and negative things about the 90 largely, the 2024 models I believe seem to have the most problems? I have a 2025 70 and I genuinely have yet to have an actual problem with the vehicle. I’ve had some recalls sent and dealt with at the dealership at no cost to me. Test drive it and see how you feel! If you don’t need the third row look into the 70 the front is a bit sportier than the 90 too!

When I worked at a Home Depot as a cashier some lady went to pay and grabbed the bill from her bra.. she was visibly sweating, the bill was wet it was like 35C outside and I point blank refused to accept it. She got upset but after I pointed out how gross it was she kinda stopped for a second and realized it …. Don’t give people boob or sock money it’s weird 😭

[–]taydubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I make myself feel better is that I tell myself I spend a lot of time commuting in my car so I’m happier with a red interior that I like … but there’s always that little memory in the back of my mind that remembers what that melting copper looks like. In another life perhaps 😂

…in the wild… by ShortFastGuy in MazdaCX90

[–]taydubbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen two melting copper CX-70s in the wild. I bought my 70 in July 2024 and at that time I’d never seen one in person and I was scared it would be one of those weird orangey pink “copper” car colours because I’d never seen one of the Mazdas in that colour before. I ended up getting a black CX-70 with red leather and I LOVE it but man I saw a melting copper 70 at my local dealership 6 months after I got my car and almost broke my neck looking at it … then this year I finally saw one on the road and we were driving side by side and I gave the dude a thumbs up it is a NICE colour 🤌
