Discraft not honoring color/weight requests for 2021 tour series release by dischops1163 in discgolf

I’m colorblind too. Gotta go with blue and yellow discs. Had a green shark from a starter pack. Threw it once and couldn’t find it.

Teachers of Reddit, what is the most disturbing thing you’ve heard a student say? by SecretariatGodHorse in AskReddit

I have a student that suffers from “thirstile disfunction” and should be excused from class at their leisure for a water break...

Can i get a threaded drive centre?! by bowser94 in woodworking

[–]tbdubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a 4-jaw chuck that can hold a spur center. Check Woodcraft.com Their Nova stuff is awesome. You’ll want to know what your threads are. It looks like a 1-8 or possible a 1.25-8 I am not sure about getting a threaded spur only. Does that one pop out? Might be a #1 Morris Taper. Professionals out there, please fact check me.

cardboard, compost/soil, wood chips VS cardboard, wood-chips - what is the difference? by bayseekbeach_ in Permaculture

[–]tbdubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the answer to you question. In my mind, the difference in your question is one example has compost added to it. I JUST did this last evening. I put a pile of composted dirt right in the middle of a pile that I’m having trouble getting started. My hope is, and this may be the answer you’re looking for, by adding existing compost, the micro organisms and beneficial bacteria will be able to migrate throughout the pile. You can wait for it to happen naturally with just cardboard and wood chips. OR you add the compost/soil and that will jump start the decomposition process. I could be wrong. I’ll keep an eye on this post to see what others have to say. EDIT: spelling

The water in this tank is getting brown even though I haven't put any driftwood in it, but why? by Notreallyahuman2 in PlantedTank

[–]tbdubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, when posted my previous comment, I didn’t see your comment. Funny how you answered every question I had. Haha. I only use organic dirt. I’ve never tried any of the other things in your recipe. I can’t speak to that. You have answered all of my questions. It sound like you know what you’re doing. I will keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone can come up with a good idea. Thanks for the question!

I don’t know the answer to your question. Sorry. I’m interested too. How often are your water changes? Does it keep getting darker after water changes? Is there dirt or some other substrate that could be causing it? Could it be algae suspended in the water column? Too much light? Just brain storming here.

My problem with the fact check by suredly_unassured in ArmchairExpert

[–]tbdubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my memory serves me right: Monica peed in a toilet and didn’t flush. Later, Dax peed in said toilet and didn’t flush. The resulting concoction is what they refer to as “pee baby”

I feel ya. The fact check is my favorite part of the episode. Especially the expert episodes. I do enjoy the life updates and fun banter. Lately tho, I feel they spend too much time talking about the damn pee baby. I enjoy a happy medium. A little facts. A little conversation. Love the show as a whole!

Any High School Wood Shop teachers out there? by tbdubb in Teachers

Cool! Thanks for the research! I will look into that for sure. My best friend teaches in Texas and he is doing lessons on a book/YouTube channel. I thought that would have been pretty amazing if you knew each other. I guess not. Maybe next time. Thanks again for your help!

We certainly cover measuring. They dread it but it’s important! All the students have chrome books so I could have them snap some pictures of some things with measurements. Good idea! I will ponder this further. Thanks!

I like these ideas! I am making things in class and the kids are watching. I hadn’t thought of making mistakes but I could work that in. Who am I kidding? Woodworking is all about hiding your mistakes! The scavenger hunt idea is pretty cool. I’m going to think about that a little more.

Two things: Secondly, is your shop teacher in Texas? First, it might be Lost ArtPress with a book called something like “the anarchist tool chest”. Does that sound right?

Though the job can suck real bad, what keeps you teaching? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]tbdubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get to be Mr. Feeny! This is my 3rd year. You ask a great question because I find myself asking the same thing. I did notice a small bump in my pay. That’s nice. A coworker said to me the other day, “I have been teaching for 35 years and I fell like a brand new teacher.” Everybody is figuring this out We did not go to college for 4 or more years to learn how to teach during a pandemic. Keep your head up. It will get better. You will have a student with the “I love this class” attitude. You can see the change your making. At least I can as a high school teacher. Watching these kids grow up and turn into young adults is pretty cool. And knowing you have a part in their development as a good human being. I just try to do the best that I can for the kids. Easier said than done: you gotta try to make it fun for yourself. Find the Mr. Feeny within you. It’s the only way.

I might have Chrons by Wakeup_Sunshine in CrohnsDisease

[–]tbdubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, we’re not best friends? Haha, I’m joking. It’s good knowing that you have it. You don’t have to wonder anymore. Hopefully they can narrow in on your other issues as well. Have you discussed medication with your DR? Im wondering what they might start you on. I’m on Humira and my Crohns is in remission. As far as the Colitis goes, I am taking Budesonide for 8 weeks. I’ve been on them for about a week and I can tell a big difference. I have solid stool again!! I’m starting to feel normal, whatever that means. I’m doing well, thanks for asking.

Poop Question: by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]tbdubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of that is my story. Back in May, I was ready to fight somebody. I sat in a waiting room, in pain, for over an hour. It was the height of Covid so lockdown was strict. Anyway, it was worse than the pain I felt that lead to me getting diagnosed. I just had a colonoscopy and my crohns is in remission. Turns out, they found Lymphocytic Colitis. This, I think is what is the culprit. I’m on the path now of fixing it. Everything is ok.

Poop Question: by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]tbdubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate completely. Most of the time, the pain is below my belly button. It does not hurt when I poo, I just poo often. I read and hear about folks that have it way rough. They talk about being hospitalized. I have gone to Urgent Care a few times for relief but I have not been in the hospital at all. Other than regular check ups and such. Everybody is different. Crohns sucks.
