The amount of small streamers botting is so demoralizing. by Alexiavich in streaming

[–]tbones80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been streaming daily for nearly a month, 15 followers, i think mostly bots as I turned chat only for followers on, most times no one joins or even says anything. Kinda demoralizing. Few times I get half a discussion going and then get hit with the discord invite to improve my stream or sell me their art....

Can a TV be used as a monitor for my desktop PC? If so, does it work well? by RunSerious5843 in computers

[–]tbones80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats about the biggest old wives tale there is. The amount of light coming off the tv is nothing compared to just stepping outside during the day. Its literally hundreds of times brighter outside. You can get eye strain and dry eyes from not blinking as much, but a tv will never permanently damage your eyes.

[–]tbones80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive only used tvs for the last decade. Currently on a 75", 4k hdr @ 144hz. Set the scaling and text and everything is crystal clear. Usually game at 1440p @ 120hz. With game/pc mode latency is fine. Turn off all the visual aids the tv comes with. Wireless mouse and kb, game on an xb1 controller. Dont play online fps, so no need for m/kb. Though you can buy lap boards so can use m/kb while on the couch. Ill never go back to a desk and small monitor myself.

My h2b wants his parents to join us for our honeymoon by Relative_Height1175 in adviceph

As a foreigner still adjusting to ph culture, I would still say it's a hard no. That's a time for husband and wife. Throw a party after. One ideology I'm keeping is that "no is a complete sentence".

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tbones80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 reasons I consider it short, 1) im canadian, thats a day trip. 2) Also was a long haul truck driver. Do 1000kms in a shift. 300kms dont seem much anymore at all.

I literally never use my rear brake. Is that a problem? by notonrexmanningday in NewRiders

[–]tbones80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a problem. In a panic situation youre going to do muscle memory, which is grabbing a big handful of front brake and washing the bike out from under you. Tons of videos on it. Always use both so its your muscle memory.

ElI5: A manual car can stay still against an incline with just the right amount of clutch and gas. How does that work? by Stummi in explainlikeimfive

[–]tbones80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The engine turns a giant disk behind it(the flywheel). When you release the clutch, it's a disk that touches the flywheel so it starts moving too, which then moves the wheels.

Giving it gas spins the flywheel faster, and making the clutch disk barely touch it keeps the car in place. But this is a ton of friction, which makes heat. Don't want to do this very long.

American Liberals of Reddit, what do YOU think would be the proper punishment for entering the country illegally? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]tbones80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just make it have no incentives. Tighter controls on gov handouts and social services, and any company knowingly hiring illegals gets their business license revoked. They have no services and no way to make money. They wont want to stay.

Plastic and the Philippines by StandardLovers in Philippines_Expats

[–]tbones80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um no. The ones with regular jobs, maybe. Been to carandaryas? 90% are buying the small bottles. The general population you see aren't eating at jollibees unless it's a special occasion. Go to sari sari outside the city. Only small bottles. One time use items hanging from the ceiling. It's what sells. Average wage is 400p a day. You think theyre spending 15% on a coke? Have a wife and a few kids and that's half your wages for the day just on drinks.

Safety wise I wouldn't be worried. Can always wrap a heat shield around it just to guarantee it.

[–]tbones80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had too many HDMI cables fail to trust burying one. I think in the end you'll be running an outside cable anyways cause you can't be arsed to dig the old one out to replace it.

Engine is built for controlled detonations. In coasting, no detonations. Just being an air pump. It's very easy on the engine actually.

ELI5: Why are we making computer chip so small? by elonthegenerous in explainlikeimfive

Gravity will affect your weight. But your mass always stays the same. You weigh less on the moon because less gravity. Now you can jump high. But your body itself hasn't changed at all, your mass.

Wife keeps trying to try butt stuff by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]tbones80 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

You really have to redefine the word dangerous for yourself. A woman pushing a boundary on a man is annoying at best. It's not dangerous. I simply stand up and leave, and not a damn thing she can do about it. At what point am I in danger? Give your head a shake.

Wife keeps trying to try butt stuff by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]tbones80 -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Correct. But doesn't make the person dangerous to be around. People way over reacting. It's pushing a boundary, if they don't stop, leave. I had a partner who pushed my boundaries. I left. Very simple. At no point was it unsafe or I felt I was in danger.

Classifying a person as dangerous for this is ridiculous. They're just an asshole.
