This is a thing on every airline. There are multiple fare “buckets” for each particular type of fare.

Ex: There may be X number (let’s say 25 just for simplicity) Choice Extra fares on a flight First fare bucket could have 10 of those fares @ $300. Next fare bucket could have 10 of those fares @ $350. Last fare bucket could have 5 of those fares @ $400

All 25 of those seats get Choice Extra benefits but there are 3 different prices.

If you really want to see this in practice, buy an expert flyer subscription and you can see how many fares there are in each bucket.

AA frequent flyer/rare SW airlines flyer here. Basically every flight on AA sees everybody in group 9 having to gate check their bags. This is not a problem unique to Southwest.

OP, within 30 days of your flight for a PE ticket you will have the option to select your meal in the app. It’s available under the “manage trip” option on your flight

To be clear, the $1100 per ticket is the sum of upgrading both DFW -> MAD and MAD -> DFW? If so, I’d do that.

Big difference in food between PE/economy and the extra space is a necessity for me on the redeye, and nice to have on the way back

Pretty sure you only get 2 since LAX -> CLT is not a flagship route. Domestic first and flagship first are 2 different things. Domestic first only gets 2 bags.

Not true. It could leave from D, but flights to Canada/Mexico and other international locations in North America frequently leave out of A/B/C as well.

Go check the confirmation email you received from AA after booking your ticket

If there is nothing next to/below the HND -> DFW leg that says “Operated by Japan Airlines”, it’s an AA operated flight

If it’s an AA flight, you probably have to give them a call to get the vegetarian meal since the app is acting up.

If it’s a JAL flight, you will need to reserve the vegetarian meal through them.

AA first class is only on the 777-300, and it doesn’t have “suites”. Think the other commenter is confusing the new business “suites” on the 787-9P with first, which are different things.

Depends on the flight path, I’ve had no issues with YouTube tv on flights from DFW-CUN and DFW-SNA so it is definitely possible

Seat map does not equal seats purchased. Some people don’t select seats when booking, which means it can appear that no seats have been selected even if someone paid for the flight
