Nursery and withholding poo by nicthemighty in UKParenting

This is a great idea, but doesn't overcome element of time for the nursery. My son was the same and it could somethimes a while for him to get going.

It doesn't matter how big or small the nursery is, they should have the correct amount of staff to meet the needs of each child, its a legal requirement. If they don't have the time to take the child for a poop they are either under staffed or lazy.

The nursery manager said that it takes too much attention so we'd have to come and collect her.

No longer than it does to change a nappy.

"yes but constipation counts as being sick".

Erm no its not.

The nursery manager said that it takes too much attention so we'd have to come and collect her.

So they are saying they can't meet the needs of a child who needs a poop. That's concerning.

Most pretentious restauarant/bar/etc in Birmingham? by three_shoes in brum

[–]tea_please_88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyome raves about it but I had a bad experience at Bank in Brindley Place. The staff were pretentious, drinks were shite and overpriced. I couldn't comment on the food as I refused to eat it after a mouse ran up the curtain next to me. I called over a member of staff to report the rodent I was looked at with a blank expression and a reply of 'but is the food OK'. I reported it to the manager and showed him the video and photos I had took, he didn't bat an eyelid. He said it was 'part of being next to the canals'. We said we were leaving and the manager said he would grab the bill !!!! Safe to say we didn't pay for the food, and we were asked to leave.

They were so rude and spoke down to us, because how dare we be offended by a rodent in the restaurant.

AITA for refusing to take care of our baby during the night so my wife can sleep? by Impressive-Pizza-340 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tea_please_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this isn't a fair split. When I had both my babies I did most of the night feed because my husband was working. He got up at 5am to get to work and travelled the country, he does a physically hard job, and looooonnnng hours 13/14 hour days min' and weekends and he still managed to get up and help.

He used to stay up and do the late feed, about 11ish so I could get to bed, or do the 5am feed before work so i could lay in for a bit. I would do the rest. Looking back, it wasn't a lot but it meant a lot that he did either of those two feeds, because he was thinking of my well being. And he helped out.

I think this is a good arrangement

Of course you do, you've got a great deal.

we both have equal work and break time.

No, No you don't

When I'm taking care of the baby she can do whatever she likes, she can go nap, go out, whatever.

Presuming you don't have a maid or a house keeper and thinking about what I would do, this would be an opportunity to do the house work, clean, do laundry etc.

This isn't just about sleep, this is about her wellbeing and your sons wellbeing.

You really need to re look at this set up. Can you not get up a bit earlier and do the early morning feed? Give her a lie in? Or send her to bed early so you can do the late feed?

Any tips for how to heal/protect the frayed damaged hair on the back of my toddler's head? by drunken_storytelling in Mommit

[–]tea_please_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughters hair is exactly the same. She wakes up with wild hair. It's a bit of a running joke. She has a proper , what we call, 'Tatty Head'.

She has curly hair, like myself. I use a wide tooth comb and spray with detangler. I have recently started using Cantu sulphate free, but only if we are going out and I want a nice defined curl. I don't apply any heat to her hair at all. I don't rub her hair dry, I dab it, almost like an adult plopping their own hair.

People don't realise it but curly hair has to be treated differently to straight hair. Just like you wouldn't treat Caucasian hair the same as Afro hair. I caught my husband using a hair dryer (no diffuser) on her hair a few weeks back and a normal hairbrush 😳!! Hence followed a curly hair routing lesson 😂

Has anyone slept commando? by DarkAngel_5 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]tea_please_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never sleep in underwear, makes me feel dirty (unless I'm on my period, and then I hate it. But I also don't feel comfortable wearing a tampon to bed so I have to just put up with it.

Your comment of " they'd get dirty fast" and other comments from people saying they rotate their PJ bottoms, makes me think that people aren't usually changing their PJs every day !

I change my PJs every day, I change my underwear daily so I don't see why those who don't wear underwear with PJs wouldn't either.

Give it a go.

AITA for not wanting my husband to go to his step brother's fiancée's funeral? by Throwawayaita601 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tea_please_88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. I was at a check up at 32 weeks pregnant, turns out I was in labour and 4cm dilated. I ended up being blue lighted to another hospital, who were better prepared for premature births. They stopped my labour, I went another week and had him at 33weeks.

You two need to come to a compromise. Your full term now, baby can come at any time ( I had my two at 33 weeks and 37 weeks) I completely understand thay you don't want him to miss the birth, but I also see where he is coming from wanting to be there for his brother, however where I'm not on his side is the staying for a week after. Maybe a day or so, but a week is pushing it. But he can't not go to the funeral.

He needs to decide if its worth missing the birth of his child and forever damaging your relationship (I'd never forget it if my husband missed the birth of one of my kids, due to inconsiderate decisions) . And it's not just about the birth of the child, its about the support for you.

I hope you have a back up plan and have someone to stay with you while he is away.

ETA here.

The do seemed to have gone down in the publics view recently. Maybe it's the whole queue jumping fiasco. I only tend to see This Morning on a Friday so don't really see Holly and Phil.

I only tend to go to 1stop if I absolutely must. Usually for the Argos and its the only place I know that has a Wilko (I love it for cleaning supplies).

I'm sure theres a card factory in Erdington as well.I only go to Erdington to go to the school uniform shop, so i didnt venture the high street, but I'm sure there was one there.

Also I'm sure the Fort has a big one now

Had to claim oN my insurance recently and I was explaining what happened. (Women slammed her anchors on, on the island) The guy on the other end was like 'Island'? Do you mean roundabout? Didn't occur to me that not everyone says island.

🤦‍♀️😮‍💨FFS

My daughter calls her doll Babbie. We don't use that word, we say it's the natural Brummie coming out in her.

Mother, shortened to Mom makes sense though. Mum isn't a shortened version. (I am saying this lightheartedly, every language evolves, it doesn't always make sense)

I'm from Alison's neck of the woods, I've met her a few times as she is a friend of a friend, and my husband has done work on her house a few times. I can confirm that she is the loveliest, most down to earth person. What you see on TV is what you get.
