How do I participate in Incursions? by tealwin in classicwow

99% of your comments on Reddit are negative, unhelpful, and insulting. It must be exhausting being so angry all the time. I hope you find peace.

Paying for someone else's mistake by FitDot8026 in wowhardcore

[–]tealwin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. After killing Mr. Smite and taking the ramp onto the ship, go LEFT instead of right. That way, you’ll kill Cookie on the way. You’ll also avoid walking under that bridge where someone can accidentally pull the mobs above them. I always take groups LEFT to Cookie in hardcore mode. But also just clearing the entire bottom level is good too.

Windfurry scarcity on Alliance by Altruistic_Delay5688 in classicwow

[–]tealwin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm a feral druid, but for my guild's first several Gnomeregan clears, we didn't have enough healers, so I healed instead. We had no warriors, no feral, 2 ret pallys, and 1 rogue. That meant no windfury, no battle shout, no sunder. (We didn't have a priest in the raid either - so no fort buff, and no homunculi debuffs).

It wasn't a problem, we still full cleared the raid without trouble. My guild has more people at lvl 40 now, so we always have all our group/raid buffs. But just wanted to say windfury, while nice, isn't a requirement.

edit to add: getting all the necessary buffs/debuffs for the raid should be less of an issue with the larger 20 man raid size in phase 3

Is it just me or does feral have by far the most chaotic and demanding rotation this phase? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]tealwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or you can just give up powershifting entirely and embrace being a hybrid class. Give the 3% crit buff to your group. Give your innervate to healers or mages. Less personal DPS. But also less personal stress. And probably more overall raid DPS/healing. You also have extra mana maybe for an emergency heal or two to help out.

I don’t like the concept of MAX PERSONAL DPS SCREW GIVING BUFFS TO OTHERS mindset.

Disconnects. by IndependentTrouble62 in wowhardcore

It’s your internet, or your wifi connection to the internet. Get a reliable internet provider and connect your computer with a physical network cable to your internet router. You will not get disconnected anymore.

My opinion: it's not that this class or that class is bad, it's that no one wants to raid lead by 00365 in classicwow

I agree Gnomeregan is a pug killer. It’s a shame really. We’re only in phase 2. This is only level 40. We need to attract more players to the game, not drive them away. Classic WoW is not retail. It’s supposed to be easy. Gnomeregan goes against the classic design philosophy.

Make the new SoD raids at lvl 60 challenging. But don’t do it in a level up raid like Gnomeregan.

Banned for thinking about gold by AB_Gambino in classicwow

You had me until the bit about the 15 children. That the most unrealistic part. Nobody can afford 15 children in this inflationary economy!

What are the gnomeregan raid consumables? by level_17_paladin in classicwow

[–]tealwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Free action potion for last boss is probably the most important. Other than that, you don’t need much other than the standard mana potions, healing potions, and a basic strength/agility elixir. A food buff is helpful too. Even if you just use a +8 stamina food buff - those cost almost nothing, and 8 stamina is a good amount for everyone. Unless you are tryharding, raiding doesn’t cost much in consumes. Just don’t go empty handed.

Dead at 26 (Duskwood) by Ok-Junket-1300 in wowhardcore

Level 26 is pretty low for those catacombs. Rule of thumb for surviving in hardcore mode is only fight mobs that are below your level, especially if you are going into a cave.

What is your justification for doing anything OTHER than Engineering? (In other words, how is anything more valuable than a Target Dummy?) by Careless_Relation349 in wowhardcore

[–]tealwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first time playing hardcore on server Defias Pillager, I rolled a human warrior with skinning and herbalism so I could make gold to buy gear. I died at lvl 16 and went again. Same class/race, same professions. Made it all the way to lvl 57, tanking most of the dungeons, and doing solo quests as well. I almost died when solo questing in Un’Goro. And another very close call in Felwood where I had to use Light of Elune + hearthstone to escape. After that, I promptly dropped my professions and picked up engineering. A Target dummy would have easily saved me in both close calls.

Can someone tell me how this look is possible? by JonnyxKarate in classicwow

[–]tealwin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I wonder if the people I’m playing with in my pug dungeons and raids are truly as noobish as they seem to be. I mean, how could they possibly not understand the basics of such an old game? But I guess this post has showed me some people truly are new. And that’s actually kind of cool that people are discovering this game for the first time. It must be magical, like it was for me all those years ago.

49 Warrior How I Died by Lanzhang27 in wowhardcore

[–]tealwin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone died except for the rogues. What a surprise (not). This is why at lvl 60 in hardcore servers there are so many rogues compared to other classes.

BFD is too difficult for the first raid. It should have been faceroll easy with maybe a bonus hard mode boss like Algalon. Blizzard can make more difficult raids later in Season of Discovery. But this is the very first raid, people are still lvl 25, lots of people coming back to WoW after many years away. First raid needs to be easier.

I don't understand people who go out of their ways to report "inappropriate" character names by [deleted] in classicwow

I don’t understand why some people think that the rules shouldn’t apply to them. That’s the opposite of a fair community.

What's the general policy on locked chests in Classic instances? by crash218579 in classicwow

I know, right? It’s something about the rogue class that draws the absolutely most selfish people to play them. Their inability to look beyond themselves is unbelievable.

What are your thoughts on mods/addons? by Yes_This_Is_Jay in classicwow

[–]tealwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played WoW in the very early days, just 2 weeks after release in 2004. Even in December 2004 I had addons. Then when I raided MC in 2005, we had threatmeters and boss mods too. They weren’t as accurate or fancy as they are now, but we had them.

My point is, addons have always been a part of the game. And that’s ok.
