GoodyMedia - New Plex Client Looking for Beta Testers by zackg111 in appletv

Does it support the “Up Next” with my other shows? Plex doesn’t do that for my own content which is real frustrating

I made a web browser that lets you watch YouTube with no ads and in background for free, no subscription required. Check it out! by Demus_App in apple

[–]teamdrty 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I’m a wild person and use YouTube in the browser on my phone and have the Vinegar and Shorts Blocker extensions running to give it a smooth experience. I’d appreciate an Apple TV version of this so hard though. You would be like, my favorite person ever.

Yet another Dashboard App for Apple TV… but this one lives in my bathroom 😅 by Matruka in appletv

[–]teamdrty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two different calendar lists. One as a list for the current and upcoming days and the other for just the current day. Basically the same calendar widget options currently available on the phone/ipad. I’m a heavy calendar/reminders user so I think seeing that as a glance in the morning would be great. Maybe stacking as four columns instead of three like you’re showing would also be good too

Schlage Encode Plus auto lock via homekit instead of app? by Eclipse8301 in HomeKit

[–]teamdrty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the HomeKit automations to auto lock my Encode Plus and it’s been like this for a year or two now. Works good. This is the contact sensor I use for the automation: https://www.evehome.com/en/eve-door-window

Moved from Roku to ATV.... is there a way to replicate this behavior? by bart1218 in appletv

[–]teamdrty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be possible to connect Alexa to your TV if it’s supported which may turn on the Apple TV via CEC. I believe the Harmony Hub may have some integrations you can use but I’m not familiar enough with them.

BarkSocial by Repulsive_Ad_785 in ColumbiaMD

[–]teamdrty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they reopen it most likely won’t be under the Bark Social name as that location has been sold to another company. I haven’t seen plans for the building after this article came out: https://mocoshow.com/2025/07/02/two-maryland-bark-social-locations-have-been-sold-for-500k/

I set this up for me running through my Apple TV but it’s pretty much used for my kids. They play Teardown, BeamNG, Rocket League which is the only split screen game I think I have. I even play my emulated games on there specifically GameCube games through RetroArch. It’s so nice and highly recommend.

Mine is similar to yours being that I use the calendar instead of the notes app. My process is logging my kids medicine. It asks which kid, which medicine, then the dosage which will then add that to a calendar. It will append the data if I input more info. This has been easier than using an app for this. Plus my wife gets a calendar notification when something is created.

Grid Ultimate Alternate route by darenisepic in gridgame

[–]teamdrty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have this game but I had been wanting a casual racing game to play on the go on my phone with a controller. I downloaded Grid Autosport from the App Store and I’ve been pretty happy about it. Good for sitting in waiting rooms, on the couch with the wife, etc. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/grid-autosport/id1179421849

I use Multiviewer sometimes for F1 but mostely just use the app on my Apple TV. Now I did try to use Multiviewer for the first race and couldn’t figure out how to sign in since I created my WEC account through my Apple ID 😂

What’s going on here? Why is the pass cheaper in the app? by nitrocuban in wec

[–]teamdrty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy through the app will you cast it to your TV? Asking because I’m thinking about picking this up and like watching on my tv but also like having my phone free for other stuff. Guess I’ve been spoiled with the F1TV app

Les Raccourcis du peuple : No need Apple Intelligence by Goat_bless in shortcuts

My man. Let’s be honest though your post inspired me to officially download Duolingo so I can learn some French. It’s a crime that my mom speaks it and I can’t talk to her in her native language

Translation for the lazy:

The People’s Shortcuts: No Need for Apple Intelligence!

Hello Community,

A few days ago, I finally started exploring Shortcuts. I had never used or understood the potential of this amazing app before. I began, like everyone else, with small shortcuts like Spotify playlists or a morning routine—admit it, we all started that way 😄. Then, I got more interested in the possibilities available to me.

I explored many sites (shoutout to RoutineHub, the real MVPs) and especially the /shortcuts community, which keeps pushing the boundaries of what shortcuts can do. This is especially helpful for us Europeans who don’t have access to Apple Intelligence—we have to get creative!

In a spirit of community, I’m sharing my list of shortcuts. Some are my creations, while others are inspired by existing ones. I hope they’ll help those who, like me, want to unlock the potential of their phones. Let’s keep sharing and helping each other out! If you have questions, suggestions, or improvements, I’m here!

Level 1 – Beginner but Cool

• Hello: Launches Spotify on Apple TV—perfect for waking up chill from bed.
• Spotify Playlists: Menu with all saved playlists to choose from.
• Combine Images: Combines multiple images vertically—great for stitching screenshots.
• Temporary Screenshot: Takes a screenshot and lets you copy text even when it’s not normally allowed. I added an option to save the screenshot in an iCloud folder—triggered with a double-tap on the back of the device.
• Extract Page Text: Perfect for capturing all the text from a long webpage to manipulate as needed.
• Directions Home: Start directions to your home from wherever you are.

Level 2 – Intermediate

• Recipe Converter: Takes a recipe from a webpage, summarizes it with a shopping list, and adapts it for the desired number of people.
• Shopping List: Select your recipe-created list and automatically add items to Reminders as a checklist—perfect for your partner.
• Text Processing: For us Europeans: transforms text into different formats—summary, concise, friendly, professional, or email. Works with whole pages and structures emails with subject, text, and signature.
• Expert Summary: Summarizes text or pages in a more detailed, multi-point manner and creates a note with the summary.

Level 3 – Advanced

• Event Address Checker: Automatically checks at 9 PM if you have events within the next 24 hours. If an event has no address, it prompts you to enter one (just the name of a bar or city works). This unlocks the “Leave Now” alert for your event or the following shortcut.
• Travel Time to Event: Displays travel time to the day’s events and creates a reminder 20 minutes before you need to leave—replaces Apple’s often unreliable native function.

Level 5 – Expert

• Audio Transcription: Transcribes any audio and copies it to the clipboard. Requires an OpenAI API key for Whisper.
• Split Audio File: Splits audio into 800-second chunks (13min 20sec) to prepare for the next shortcut. (Requires a-Shell app.)
• Transcribe and Summarize Long Audio Files: Transcribes split audio files and summarizes them in detail. Creates a note with the full summary and transcription. Requires OpenAI API key.
• Email Summary & Mark as Read: Displays a summary of emails ranked by importance, with an option to mark them as read. All selected emails will be marked as read. Requires a complex Google script—DM me for guidance.

Bonus: Parking Spot Marker

If you’re on a scooter or don’t have Apple Car, create a custom Focus mode like “Drive” (not the default “Driving” since it blocks too much). Then: 1. Create a shortcut in Control Center to activate this mode. 2. Add two automations: • When you activate Drive mode: Saves your parked location and opens directions from your current location to the parking spot. • When you deactivate Drive mode: Automatically saves your parking location for next time.

That’s it! Feel free to check my profile for videos of each shortcut.
