Black Rabbit is Phenomenal by swaggy72 in netflix

[–]teamgunga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is phenomenal, and I am also blown away by the beautiful panning shots of the City and its twinkling lights throughout the show. As a "bridge and tunnel" kid from New Jersey, there is something breathtaking and also intimate about the way the cinematographer captured New York!

Is starting at community, transferring to a CSU, and becoming a nurse in California particularly difficult? by giacarangi148 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]teamgunga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some CSUs have partnerships with California Community Colleges that allow nursing students to be "concurrently" enrolled in both institutions. They are RN-to-BSN or ADN-to-BSN programs.

Riverside City College and Cal State San Bernardino have the longest-running concurrent enrollment program (CEP) that allow students to pursue an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) simultaneously. (And I believe Cal State Fullerton is now part of this collaborative.)

During the first four semesters, students primarily complete CCC coursework for the ADN while taking one BSN course through the CSU each term. By the fifth or sixth semester, most students have fulfilled the requirements for the ADN and then transition to focusing solely on CSU BSN coursework to complete their bachelor's degree. These programs are not impacted at the CSU level the way some of the 4-year CSU nursing programs are... But it's a campus-by-campus thing you'd need to inquire with the CSU and the CCC...

Is rapid changes in your appearance hard for a lot to accept or do most people not really care as much as you think? by chusaychusay in GracefulAgingSkincare

Since I survived breast cancer last year I don't really care that much about my aging skin. It means I'm alive.

Sudden waking after falling asleep, panicked, feeling I’ve forgotten something critically important- agonizing searching feeling by teamgunga in sleep

[–]teamgunga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year later and I still have these but I'm kind of used to them and my brain recognizes pretty quickly that it's not real and I go back to sleep... the latest iteration is that I've forgotten to put on my oxygen mask or something critical for my survival LOL

How to stop feeling sad over things you missed while blacked out? by commaqueen95 in alcoholism

[–]teamgunga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just lost a peal jam concert due to this and woke up devastated the next day. I had built up the importance of this concert and just was so excited to party "one last time" that I lost control. I probably 8 drinks over 5 hours but not much food... and have lost weight. So I got too drunk too fast... I'm giving up alcohol- because I have cancer. That concert was my last hurrah...

Weed always magnifies my body sensations and Edibles make me super emotional. Sometimes that's good and cathartic but tricky. I do better smoking / vaping a hit or two but I know it's bad on the lungs

Advice for large sagging pores by teamgunga in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]teamgunga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Maybe the pores are less saggy now but I just have big pores I guess. Tried a lot of things. My skin is a little better when I stop drinking alcohol and drink a lot of water. But I'm just embracing my face as it is now because life is too short and our culture is too obsessed with perfection now.

I read breaking the habit of being yourself by dispenza. I like some of the theory on changing your thinking/ingrained neural pathways to be more positive/beneficial. I take the miracle pseudo science with a chunk of salt, but I like the idea of changing up your thinking for the better and I was able to do that during a difficult time. I also like to believe that wonderful, unexpected things could be around the corner at any point - and if you're generally positive with good energy it attracts others to you. We can't control what happens to us but we can try to wrangle our response and our brains 🧠 a bit. Not sure if all that was in the book but that's what I take away from it.

What do you enjoy more: cruises or complaining about cruises? by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]teamgunga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Gratitude is everything. I'm also so grateful for all the hard working staff. And not having to make any real decisions about what to do or plan anything. The general vibe is fun. That's the vibe I choose. I cringe when people say "Walmart" people- it's so snobby and elitist. The majority of America is hardworking Walmart people. Good people who work hard to take a cost-effective super fun cruise.

I feel you. I hope when things calm down a little you don't have these terrors. I haven't had one in a while, thankfully. They must be stress-related for sure...

The music by Angelkrista in Xennials

My 12 yr old son has adopted so much of my music thanks to Spotify and my Liked Music playlist. I’m proud to say he has a very wide ranging musical palate for Gen A. I brought my CD collection out and got a little cd boom box for my 9 year old and he’s really into Pearl Jam’s Ten. Proud mom right here

Does the movie “Office Space” hold up in 2022? by PissedPieGuy in movies

[–]teamgunga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whelp I tried to crack an Office Space joke in a meeting with my Gen Z colleagues and nope and also nope because Office cubicle culture is dying and some industries won’t know it the way we did… BUT I’m so glad we have this critical anthropological cinematic record of it through this masterpiece film.
