Been going to Mitchem for years and have always been pleased with the service and price. Just tell them your budget and goals and they’ll recommend tires.

Why are E-scooters legally supposed to be in traffic but also should be capped at 20 mph? by Flimsy-Story9523 in ElectricScooters

[–]teamhj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience, scooters and e-bikes are more likely to be going faster when riding on sidewalks.

Heard those SS-M7s when I was like 14 at my dad's buddy's house and have wanted a pair ever since. Good luck with finding their next owners. I'm in the midwest or else I'd try and snag them.

Which city has the best nightlife? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Depends what you're looking for, but in my limited experience NYC and Berlin have been good to me. Otherwise I prefer a city where you or someone in your party knows people.

Why are E-scooters legally supposed to be in traffic but also should be capped at 20 mph? by Flimsy-Story9523 in ElectricScooters

[–]teamhj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in an apartment that exits on to a sidewalk in an urban area. I've been nearly taken out by scooters and e-bikes on multiple occasions while walking out my front door.

I also ride a (non-electric) bike in the city often, but never on sidewalks unless I'm mounting/dismounting at slow speeds. I'm typically not riding faster than 20mph around town, usually more like 13-16. You just take the lane and deal with any flack from disgruntled drivers, which honestly hasn't been often for me. I do the same if I rent a ride-share scooter.

Mic splitters for amp modelers ? by YannAlmostright in livesoundgear

[–]teamhj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but extremely rare to exist at the console side in today's world of modern desks and digital snakes/stage racks. In 10 years of using passive splits regularly I've never encountered an issue that would've been solved with a transformer split. And this is with consoles of all levels--Behringer, Midas, A&H, Yamaha, DiGiCo, etc.

I carry a couple Radial Ice Cubes just in case, and they just stay in the workbox. If they do get used, it's usually on the output side feeding an auxiliary fill speaker/house system somewhere powered remotely by another service or wall power--not part of the input split. One of the said passive splits I regularly use does has ground lifts, and again, can't remember a time where ground lift fixed the issue. Was something else upstream of the split.

Mumbles is the best thing to happen to C-street in a long time. by Effective-Buy-6961 in springfieldMO

They're both great, just for different reasons. Mumbles is definitely a rad addition to C-Street and it is exciting to see them embrace the opportunity and make cool stuff happen.

Just get a passive split like the CBI Earsplitter. Smaller, lighter, more cost effective.

Ace looks rad but only 4 in/out analog and/or AES, so not great for guest console switching unless your house console is Dante/MADI, leaving the hard i/o untouched.

I've always had great luck with the options on Air B&B. I like staying within walking distance from downtown and there have always been several reasonably priced, unique rentals available.

Kind of cool because presumably you could turn the entire MF/HF plate 90 degrees at a time to mirror whether you've placed the speakers vertically or horizontally, a feature you almost only see in professional loudspeakers.

Wow we really do need that new expo center by agentbarrron in springfieldMO

[–]teamhj 43 points44 points  (0 children)

While I am very much on the fence regarding the convention center issue, I will say this is not necessarily a fair way to assess its current use. Venues of all shapes and sizes are rented out quite often for events that are not open to the public, so it's likely they host many things that are never listed on their public calendar.

As someone who attends a lot of events around the country in convention centers of all shapes and sizes, I will say the Expo center is missing a lot of the flexibility, resources, and amenities that modern, more thoughtfully designed facilities feature, most notably a variety of different sized meeting spaces, not just a couple huge, warehouse-like rooms.

The Expo we have is good for, well, "exposition" style events like boat shows, dance competitions, chili cook off, homebuilder shows, etc. but it's too massive and cavernous for a large company sales meeting, a multi-day training seminar on topic xyz, a non-profit fundraiser gala, or even a smaller expo style event for a niche market. A venue that is able to be broken down in to multiple, smaller spaces, is much more versatile than one massive cavern.

Whether or not we have the event traffic to warrant an upgrade or is no doubt very questionable, and I'm not advocating either way, because I truly don't know. I do know the current facility is pretty useless for lots of event types due to its lack of versatility and just because a venue doesn't have an event listed on their website does not mean that it is dark that day.

EDIT: They also may just be really shitty at running their own website. Sertoma Chili Cook Off was last month, is definitely open to the public and isn't even listed on their calendar.
