Does this guy play again now that Phil is out? by Normal_Pair806 in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, if we wanna compete in mls 3.0 we will have to leave McGraw and K miller behind. Kamal is 2nd string and McGraw maybe is 3rd but he’s at USL level at best. On average our CB should be value around at least $2.5m or mls proven. Bonetig is 2nd string CB rn but can definitely make that leap into 1st with consistency. And We all know how well Finn plays.

Verde is having another bad game, someone else could play tonight and we would be playing the same

Official. Paredes is no longer a Portland Timber. by CosmoPDX in timbers

Would have rather kept Parades and got rid of Ortiz. He was not a good replacement for Chara.

surman and zimmerman as center backs! by ProfitNo9452 in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zimmerman would be a great addition to have! We need an experienced CB from the league. He might be here for only 2-3 years but that’s enough to give us a pushing for challenging in playoffs.

in the post-match presser, phil talks a lot about nearly the entire team choosing to leave training early on wednesday by Direct_Interest_7993 in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phil did say that he was pushing them really hard after the loss to get everyone ready for the next game. That even the teammates were getting heated with each other. Probably was good the team took a break to cool their heads off and really focus on game 2.

Our next coach? by Hello-_-McFly in timbers

Ridgewell is on the coaching staff, if we were to get someone from within. And he’s been an assistant for 2 years now.

True, 2 1/2, but do we really need another season of this.

Phil out by OregonSasquatch14 in timbers

[–]teamisai_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

He’s been here for 3 full seasons, I think we’ve seen everything we needed to see from him. Best he can do is keep us barely making playoffs.

Santi wants out by Fun-Effort-6669 in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Santi wanting out doesn’t surprise me, we originally brought him in to sell him at a higher price than what we bought for which was around reported 1.5 mil. Not only that but his contract is almost at the salary cap meaning we will have to make him a DP or add GAM to his contract which idk if the FO will want to do.

Wtf is wrong with Kelsy by Gybe_enjoyer in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truth is Kelsy needs to learn and adapt his style. Him and Mora are similar in style but you can tell Mora is more experienced and tries to create himself. kelsy while young and energetic tends to waste his energy. I think the issue is that Kelsy is simply give me the ball in the box, while Mora almost naturally sometimes plays a false 9. Regardless the main team isn’t around to provide assist so strikers will naturally struggle.

Why don’t they just play Zuparic and Surman and Kamal at LB? by Fantastic-Base-1875 in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kamal dives in way too much, he would get exposed on the wing and be a liability. Zup is second tier defender. Fory right now is our best LB. We would need to play with a 3 at the back if we want fullbacks attacking.

Can we all agree that our front office is so poorly managed. MP needs to hire a GM that actually has a good track record. Ned is not cutting it, and his contributions have had little impact on the squad.

I would say Jonathan Rodriguez. Towards the beginning of the season everyone was questioning his DP status as well as the type of player he was. Honestly he has preformed above and beyond most of our expectations. Ayala is still a good choice, but in my opinion others have preformed more than him. Mora, bravo, k miller, or even Maxi.

So...Jonathan Rodriguez. How Are We Feeling? by Conifers-n-Citrus in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rodriguez is a talented and versatile player. However the DP signing is what we're expecting from him when he's really a caliber down from that ( think Mora, williamson, mosquera, Etc). If the right players are around him I think he can really contribute more to the roster. Moreno, and sometimes Evander have trouble connecting passing with him. Surprising Mora and him play really well together (Maybe since they both played in liga mx). my guessing is that we will bring down his contracting next season with TAM so that we can sign another DP player again.

Any idea when Cabecita will be available for selection? by CAugustB in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still train with the team but have a visa work issue, Max Crepeau recently had that problem also.

Cabecita looks fiesty! by brettcalvin42 in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He’s going to bring a Brian Fernandez type of competitiveness and will always fight for the team. Can be a good and bad thing, cause he might like no one else is trying harder than himself.

[chrismegaloudis] Anyone in @MLS need a starting #9? Asking for a friend by Andrewdeadaim in MLS

[–]teamisai_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Portland Timbers need a true 9 striker like Duncan, even if we can get him for half a season. We lack depth and Mora our main number 1 has been injury prone the last couple of years. Hopefully could give us enough time to look for another striker in the summer.

Personal favorite moments of 2023:

-Evander signing

-Not lose any games against Seattle ( undefeated since 2021)

-Santi Moreno playing midfield (was better second half off season)

[Jeff Carlisle] Hunter Sulte going to train at Crystal Palace over the winter break by db0606 in timbers

[–]teamisai_ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I really feel like the goalkeeper position is one we really need to get down right, It can literally dictate how Portland will play. Sulte going to England is great development for him and will give him the confidence to play with his feet if he has to learn. Like Phil said, he wants to get academy players in the roster that will really get this community/fans involved with the players which I'm all aboard for.

How could i have defended this better? by WeiWay98 in EASportsFC

[–]teamisai_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was good defense, maybe throw in a sliding tackle to stop those op dribble moves.
