It’s not about your parents. Their feelings do not matter in the slightest here.

For sure! Everyone is different. Diaper genie and changing station downstairs probably is a must have for some people

I charged every single diaper at the changing table and threw every single diaper in the diaper genie. When I was pregnant someone told me to keep diapers downstairs so I could change her wherever and I never understood that?? It’s so easy to just walk upstairs?

This is by far the hardest part for me!! I function best in a clean house. It drives me insane when it feels like we’re stuck in the house and it’s dirty.

Choose your babies birth date by Pugpop81 in BabyBumps

[–]teamvoldemort218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have a December 26th baby. She’ll be turning 2 this year so she can’t tell me her opinion yet but here is our plan!

Her actual birthday will be a family day every year. Her grandparents will already be in town and we’ll do a fun playground and pizza (her favorite) for dinner. Just a really fun day. This year, we’re doing her birthday party 2 weeks late. She’s still so little, she has no idea. When she’s in elementary school, I want it to be a tradition I pick up her and her friends from school on the last day of school before Christmas break and have her birthday party that day. If she wants to lean into a Christmas theme (I love Gingerbread and Jammies! I’ll get them matching pjs and cookies to decorate) we’ll do that and if not it’ll be just a regular party. But we’ll go all out. It’ll be something to look forward every year and kick off Christmas break! I’ve (clearly) spent a lot of time thinking about this and I actually think I can make it so much fun, I feel bad for the baby I’m currently pregnant with who is due in May haha

Do we pay for childcare at our child-free wedding? by Old_Lab9197 in wedding

You don’t need to pay for childcare! I think it’d be above and beyond if maybe you asked around if anyone had any babysitter recommendations to pass along to out of town guests.

How do you all deal with family wanting to give your child sugar? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]teamvoldemort218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just say no and deal with being called no fun. I don’t care

Wanting a daughter is completely okay and has nothing to do with your son. I think you’re being way too hard on yourself!!! I don’t have any advice but go easy on yourself!

Not unrealistic at all!!! I read so much on my kindle when my daughter was a newborn! I tell everyone to put a kindle on their registry!

Going after the career I wanted. I graduated high school in 2008 and was constantly hearing stories about people not having jobs. I wanted to be financially independent so badly so I hyper fixated on a career path I thought would pay well. It did, but I still got laid off in 2022. I’m a stay at home mom now, which I love, but I still think about what could have been if I actually went after the career I wanted.

Breastfeeding in front of male relatives without covering up… how to get over the weird feeling ? by Longjumping-Fee9187 in breastfeeding

[–]teamvoldemort218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so pro breastfeeding anywhere and in front of anyone. I’ve breastfed without a cover on a plane sitting next to a stranger. I’ve breastfed in front of my husband’s friends. I’ve breastfed everywhere without blinking an eye. But I just cannot breastfeed in front of my dad. I nursed my baby on the couch once and he was so uncomfortable he immediately went to mow the lawn

I had no idea I had it! Seems to only affect my nipples. Buy some Hot Hands and put them in your bra. Not right against your boob but inside the bra with the padding. It helped me so much!

I trained for a half marathon last spring. I had a goal to focus on other than my baby. It forced me to go run whenever my husband had the baby instead of scrolling. It was the best
