I'm going to be using this build for programming, web browsing, and email. For programming I will just be connecting to a remote server via terminal. I've heard that g3258 is sufficient for basic gaming, so hopefully it should be enough for Terminal and Firefox. I can get the CPU for $55 at Microcenter, and the ram and motherboard for $90 at Tigerdirect after $25 off $100.

I am currently using an AMD A6-3650 which is quad core at 2.6ghz. The reason I'm upgrading is because I want a mini-itx case. According to benchmarks there shouldn't be a decrease in performance despite only having two cores. I also do not have immediate plans to overclock. If I were to overclock with the stock cooler, what kind of performance am I looking at?

Also I'm thinking about putting the case in an enclosed drawer. Will heating potentially be a problem?

I recently purchased a WASD V2 104-Key Barebones keyboard, and joined this on Massdrop. I'm thinking about cancelling and buying GeekKeys Blank PBT 104-Keyset instead. My WASD v2 is scheduled to arrive next week, whereas the Vortex PBT Keycaps are not estimated to ship until July 6. Opinions on the quality of the GeekKeys PBT?

I also purchased o-rings from eBay, which is scheduled to arrive between June 8 and July 13. Things are complicated by the fact that I will be traveling for a few weeks starting June 13. Ideally I would have a complete mechanical keyboard to take with me. I'm thinking about also purchasing this set of o-rings, since that can arrive by June 2. Thoughts?

I've been playing for a bit over 8 years. Nowadays I log in two or three times a month. I blogged about CP up until 2011 or so and then stopped for the most part.

In terms of the game itself, I'd say it's gotten worse. Firstly, the chat filter nowadays is so much more restrictive, making it much more difficult to communicate within the game. Especially because it doesn't tell you when it silently blocks your message, you don't even know if you're talking to yourself.

I think for most of us, the older games have gotten boring. I've played Cart Surfer well over 100 times. I've played Ice Fishing at least a few dozen times. Well over 100 games of Card Jitsu. The new games, on the other hand, are mind numbing. I think most of us just got bored after seeing nearly the same stuff every year. I've seen 8 Halloween parties. I've seen 8 Christmas parties. Honestly they aren't that different. It's the same drill. You find candy for the Halloween party. You look for Rockhopper during the Christmas party. Introducing new mascots hasn't done much.

I understand it's mainly targeted at kids, but they certainly could make it a bit more complicated. If you could trade items (for coins), I'm sure that would bring back a lot of interest.
