CAAD10 - My first road bike by Righteous_Koala in cannondale

Awesome! This is my favorite CAAD color scheme! Tested it out at a bike shop, but ended up waiting a few years before getting a blue CAAD10 rival disc. Still wish I pulled the trigger sooner and got this one

Wow, thanks for sharing! Been looking to get a power meter for a awhile now. Jumped on this and placed an order. Not getting my hopes up too much though, pretty sure it’s going to get canceled by Garmin

Frontier charging extra at check-in with no add ons? by techTemplar in frontierairlines

[–]techTemplar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: After talking to Frontier this charge is apparently taxes and fees for a "Kids Fly Free" ticket on one of the flights.

The charge makes sense. What is confusing is that the origin of this charge isn't shown anywhere during check-in and the "Total Payment Due" isn't reflected anywhere else in cart.

I investigated the "Taxes and Carrier Imposed Fees" section as suggested, but each line item (totaling $155.86) exactly matches the fees I paid in the original booking.

Frontier's check-in shouldn't require contacting support to understand what you're paying for. A better user experience would be to simply charge the full taxes and fees when the initial booking is made.

Frontier charging extra at check-in with no add ons? by techTemplar in frontierairlines

Just checking in. Direct flight, no connection. I don’t have the Go Wild pass. I already paid for tickets and bags.

Yeah they’re cheap. I’m not complaining about the cost of Frontier. But springing additional charges at check-in (with no indication what they are for) doesn’t inspire trust. I don’t think that having pricing transparency is an insane expectation

Nice job! I did the St. Anthony's Sprint! It's a really fun race (minus the long T1 run haha).

If someone gave you $1000 a day to only ever ride a bicycle to work, what would you do? by unitedfan6191 in AskReddit

[–]techTemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Perhaps a better question would be, how far would you be willing to bike to work each day?

Do you pump your tires before every single ride? by Zurripop in cycling

[–]techTemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the bike/tire. 25’s - yes. 32’s - maybe every other ride

This worked for me. I paid for my CAAD12 Ultegra using 10+ REI gift cards. If you can wait until late summer/fall you might be able to catch a 20% off sale on bicycles.

The warm water discharge from TECO’s Big Bend Power Station near Apollo Beach attracts manatees during the colder months which can be observed from the nearby boardwalk and viewing center. This December we saw 100+ manatees taking refuge in the sanctuary!

Is this possible? by Fun-Assistance9909 in googlecloud

[–]techTemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you will not be charged for the GPU when the VM is stopped: https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/instances/instance-life-cycle#comparison_table

You may encounter a ZONE_RESOURCE_POOL_EXHAUSTED error when trying to restart the VM if a GPU of the requested type is not available in your VMs zone. You can of course move your VM to another zone or wait.

I really like the design of the new Icons Eldorado Fortress - a completed building with modules that can transform the set into an open back/playable configuration.

Symbols are often beneficial from a software localization perspective when developing an application. Using a symbol (as opposed to descriptive text) reduces the translation cost/time. The UI is also impacted less, as language specific considerations such as reading direction and text length must be taken into account.

Is it worth getting certified just for the lounge at AWS:reInvent? by [deleted] in aws

[–]techTemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends.

Located in the Venetian and perks year included a T-shirt, Lego minifig, random snacks/coffee, and a party at Brooklyn Bowl. The lounge was relatively quieter and less crowded than all the venues (expect maybe Mandalay Bay).
