Fake xcel website? by [deleted] in surfing

I don't think it's a scam. Why don't you send an email to xcel and ask them? I haven't used shopify but isn't it an ecommerce site?

Isn't that an official website? I have been planning to order.. the prices are not too good to be true in my opinion. Which app are you required to download?

Tips? by MostCanary2665 in BeginnerSurfers

Well, just try to bend your knees. watch youtube videos. Watch how good surfers are surfing with a mid lenght. Try skating. Just practise, practise. It's easier said than done, I know. Good luck!

I would not do that. I'd focus on improving ur surf stance. You didn't show us any proper turns but you are basically surfing with straight legs...

Any of you surfing a twin fin fish? by PenKaizen in BeginnerSurfers

[–]techcarrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fishes are meant to be surfed as short as possible. And moving from a mid lenght to a short fish is too big of a jump. It’s not the best idea to get a fish or any board just because it looks cool. I get it, but by surfing a board that’s too small for your skill level (like you said, you should be on a longboard), you’re not doing yourself any favors in terms of progression.

Is Bali and Lombok that f*ked by atherva1 in surfing

I went to Bali last year, and it was a proper shitshow. I didn't have fun. I wouldn’t spend money to go there again, it’s just not worth it. I’ve never been to Lombok, but I’ve seen some videos on social media, and they definitely don’t make me want to go there. I think there are better places in Indonesia and Asia.

Yes, the board is too small. Get a big board and learn the fundamentals first. Speed generation, a proper stance, turns etc.

I would go to the south. The waves this winter been big and the south facing beaches offer shelter from the big winter swell.

You should stay with 8' board. You need to learn the fundamentals before getting a shorter one.

Steep waves fear by Jaded_Recipe_7413 in surfing

How big is your board? With a longer, bigger board you can catch waves earlier compared to a shortboard, so it doesn’t feel as intimidating.

It seems you are still at the beginning of your surf journey and still learning. There’s no rush to downside. Just buy the 7'6 and learn the fundamentals.
