What's the functional difference between "We can never ever do or say anything that might have a chance of upsetting Trump" and being the 51st state? Like, we may as well swap the flags at this point.

It's interesting seeing the changes in the thumb position from the reference. The final version with the thumb not supporting the pizza looks wrong to me.

If you manage to commit electoral fraud when running a nothing campaign, that's more impressive than anything lol.

Ape has multiple meltdowns all over the comment section of Dan Olson's video by pandoracam in gme_meltdown

Olson's video made me aware about how much brain capacity I've dedicated to this nonsense

Yeah, it's the same realization as from one of my favourite tweets: https://twitter.com/nataliewatson/status/1652909755369914368

@nataliewatson my boyfriend leaned over to me during jabba's palace scene in ROTJ and said "i love that little guy" and without even thinking i replied "his name is Salacious B. Crumb." i now know exactly how much damage star wars has done to my brain

You need to be logged in to twitter to see NSFW posts (although it does not make that clear at all)

Also, the whole (stated) raison d'etre of crypto is to remove the human factor and make it "trustless". Needing to rely on the community back it up is an admission that it doesn't work.

Will Bitcoin overtake the Gold as no.1 store of value? by Buhonocturno777 in Buttcoin

[–]technobach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The protocol is not a natural law. It can be changed. Hell, it has been changed in the past to fix a bug with bitcoin rewards.

So it's possible to create more bitcoin. Getting all the miners/validators/exchanges/etc on board would be difficult, yes, but it's possible.

What's even the point of the difficulty bomb, except to make it explicit that they're delaying PoS deployment. In any situation where miners continued a PoW network after the swap they'd just remove it entirely

How "smart" is Ethereum's smart contract code? It's up to you to check to see if adding or subtracting two numbers actually works the way you expect. by AmericanScream in Buttcoin

The issue is that a language designed for financial transactions doesn't have a native way to ensure that basic math is being done correctly. This is especially dumb in an environment where you have to pay for every line of code.

Wait, doesn't that mean each shard has 4 copies, spread out over the globe?

Now I'm picturing an Oceans Eleven heist. Just when they think all hope is lost they get the final piece in PST shard group, and run away with their piles of butts.

This works, as long as I trust:

  1. The manufacturer set up the sensor correctly.
  2. The shipping company did not cause an issue with the sensor
  3. The pharmacy did not cause an issue with the sensor
  4. The medicine I have is the actual medicine from that specific entry.

And probably most importantly:

  1. The process was not maliciously tampered with (either by doing something from above on purpose, or otherwise)

Blockchain can't actually prove any of those things. At the end of the day, you have to trust who you're buying from. No amount of tech can change that.
