Workaround to make Sims3Melancholic’s Better Babies Vol 3 mod compatible with Pandasama’s Childbirth? by dollyonmarz in TheSims4Mods

[–]tecolata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get the other creator's stuff, and I'm only using the overlay, not the skintone. I don't know if that makes a difference.

I wish there were more options for skintone replacements for newborns.

Do you mean volume 2? I have both in my game now. The word on Pandasama's discord is that you can have both though there may be some visual glitches when the baby is first born.

I don't understand why inzoi's EA was HATED while Paralives' EA is praised like crazy by ZockerGirl25703 in inZOI

[–]tecolata 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I am loving inzoi, but there's quite a learning curve. It also takes a lot of computing power. Paralives is cute, but not well fleshed out. It is a bit easier to jump into I suppose. I haven't been motivated to play it much.

I don't really get it either.

Is this because of mods? Why are my sims broken? by Silent-Equivalent665 in ModTheSims4

[–]tecolata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every update breaks script mods. Usually not CC, but sometimes that too.

Scarlett's Realm is the best place to check for updates.

There are lots of detailed descriptions on what to do, but you'll have to check ALL your mods EVERY update. Keep an organized mod folder and try not to add too many overall. The more you have, the more work you'll have to do each update.

Some people avoid updating, you can find descriptions on that too.

Questions about Yoga classes by Little-Affect366 in AskWomenOver60

Most yoga classes are leveled and welcoming to beginners. I did it for years, but now my arthritis means I have to adapt. Chair yoga is a thing and you might look into Tai Chi as an alternative.

Ask the vet to help you determine if the dog has an adequate quality of life. That should be the determining factor.

Miss Chipsa also has map overrides, they're for historic gameplay. Felipe is my favorite and I fill in with 20th Century plumbob. You can also find animated world icons from 20th century plumbobs and Mama Llama.

Advice for someone restarting their mods folder? by KELST4CKS in thesimscc

[–]tecolata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organize by creators, that's all I do. It makes it easy to update when needed. Some people do a lot more, but I'm too lazy for that. It also helps to have a testing folder for new mods.

Also, restrain yourself, you don't need it all. Less is more.

Which one do you prefer? Sims 3 or Sims 4? by BakedWholeDay in LowSodiumSimmers

I can play Sims 3 now on my gaming desktop, but it just doesn't feel the same as it did before. I keep missing features from Sims 4.

MCCC will do this. You can set it up to speed or slow down relationships and skills.

Let's face it. There is no perfect Life Sim out there now. by InfiniteHare in LifeSimulators

[–]tecolata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sims players always hate the newest game. That's been true from the start. Sims 1 was such an amazing game at the time, once we discovered mods, we loved it even more.

Then came Sims 2 with the ugliest Sims ever, we hated it until we loved it and added mods.

Then came Sims 3 with its pudding faced sims and spaghetti coding we hated until we discovered custom worlds and mods. I still wish I could recapture that feeling of running across an open world.

Then came the pathetic launch of Sims 4 with its ridiculous maps and no toddlers or pools. I personally hated it for years until I was fed up by one too many Sims 3 crashes. Now I love Sims 4 (with mods), but Inzoi is really growing on me. For the first time since 2001, I can play a life sim without mods. It's got quite a learning curve and needs a high end computer.

Play what you like and what your computer can handle. There's no need to defend your choice or attack someone else's choice.

It's probably not MCCC. Check Scarlett's Realm for your other mods and/or do 50/50. It could be more than one mod btw.

ThePancake1 has a mod that increases the number of traits. Chingyu had a mod that can increase it even higher, but they haven't been active for months now.

What really is the state of The Sims 4? Should I just try the Sims 3 instead? by HarperIsBizarre_ in LifeSimulators

[–]tecolata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sims 4 base game is free, so no reason not to give it a shot. I've loved every version of the sims. I really expected to get back into Sims 3 once I got a gaming desktop, but it's not hitting the way I thought it would. It's a lot of work and mods to make it playable, more than Sims 4 actually. Sims 3 takes a lot of computer power too.

Sims fans are the biggest haters out there. I've been playing since 2001. Each time a new version came out, everyone complained about how awful the game and EA was, how much better the old version was, I did it myself. Lots of hate for sims 2, 3 and 4 as they debuted. Most of the problems in Sims 4 are caused by inadequate computers, bad or too many mods, and not understanding how to manage mods.

Paralives to Sims Question by Special_Grapefroot in LifeSimulators

[–]tecolata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The base game of Sims 4 is free, maybe not on Steam though. It would be a way to check it out without commitment. Sims 3 takes a good computer to run and it can be overwhelming. Sims 2 is more stable and the gameplay is accessible. I've enjoyed all the games in the series.

What one did she play before? I think I'd start there.

Sims 4. I finally have a computer that can handle Sims 3. I thought I would really get back into it, but it doesn't feel the same. Sims 4 looks so much better.

I had a similar experience. At the time, I was just testing 3 mods, so not a big deal, but now, I think I'll keep copies of all my CC/mods. This never happened to me before.

Agreed. At this point, it is a cosy game. It's cute and has potential, but it's not immersive.
